Getting an Office to Separate Home from Work

I tried the coworking space, and it was a bit annoying for me as there were too many distractions.

That could be just me, though.
That's what I think too.....imagine trying to talk to a client on the phone, and you can hear all sorts of chatter in the background......I would struggle to concentrate.

I faced this decision years ago. I couldn't find any peace at home, and I haven't regretted it to this day.

First, I rented a space in a co-working facility. It was a stylish loft with a great coffee machine and beautiful people – a place for photos and small talk about vegan milk, but not for working.

Then I rented a small office with two rooms. It was a former shop, which are easier to find than pure office space due to the high vacancy rate. I displayed my wife's art objects in the large shop window, sat in the back room and had complete peace and quiet. On routine days, I took my dog with me, who could watch the hustle and bustle on the street through the shop window for hours and was happy to be allowed to come to work with me. At the weekend, my teenage daughter used the ‘pad’ in the city centre. I don't even want to know what kind of parties took place there.

I had also tried working outdoors, but in Europe the weather plays a role and, if the dog comes along, so does every squirrel.

The best thing is a small office without any distractions from other people. You are solely focused on your work and are more productive in three hours than you would be at home or in a co-working space in eight hours.

Sounds good!

Yes, it's a about being productive isn't it (and getting out of the house)

I am planning to sell my house next year, so I opened a private office at a national co-work office.

The last month I have been doing the build-out of the office, so I haven't moved in yet.

Interesting to get different opinions, found it hard to concentrate for longer time alone at home. Coworking Space solved the isolation for me. Can highly recommend.

I have a dedicated floor for work.
I need to have a walking space and a board on thinking.

I get distracted too easily I guess in co-work place.
WFH is working fine.

Has anyone else started off working from home but felt isolated so got an office?

I'm seriously thinking about getting an office in a few months and ramping up productivity (too many distractions at home)

What are your thoughts?
Yes, I felt the same. Working from home gets isolating and distractions add up. Moving to an office helped me focus better and separate work from home life. Even a small office or coworking space is worth trying if productivity is dropping. :)

So you don't regret it in anyway?

It worked out better?

do it buddy! its hard to separate the two (work/home), they tend to spill one over the over and vice versa

You're leaving us, dad?

This is a good move. Let us know how's it going so far.

For most people, this is the right decision, because ordinary people are often affected by loneliness and the need to be part of a group. I work with my wife, and she motivates me, haha, you can imagine. I'm not lacking in motivation and I'm not overly talkative. If you can find a work partner, I don't think you need to look for another workplace, provided you love each other.

Yes, getting an office or coworking space helps with focus and to have some social energy around.
