Getting a Professional Email - Help please?

I want to get an email address which I will be using as my main email. I do business online, so I want this email to be as professional as possible.

I have hosting with Hostgator, and a few emails for a few of my websites. So maybe I can piggyback off that and get myself a custom email cheaply.

The 3 websites I currently have, I can't use because the email would be something like:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

So unfortunately I can't use any of my current domains for this, as the latter part of the email is too specific. I want my main email not to be connected with my websites.

I'm thinking I can buy a domain name ($10/year), use that for my email, and even start a new blog with that domain name (i can have unlimited sites on my hostgator hosting). Or perhaps there's a paid email service out there which would be cheaper, more professional, more secure, faster?

I'm looking for any advice, tips, guides and tutorials about this subject.

p.s please don't be a smartass and tell me to use the search function. After I post this thread, I will go and use the search function on Blackhatworld and on Google to look for information on this subject.

Thank you

I would recommend to buy domain which suits your professional name needs
You dont need to host your email service
Just regular email like gmail
Use forwarding and SMTP on the gmail which link to your pro email
I use namecheap for this service

but you can try it my way
I have several domain like sample1.site sample2.site
but i dont use single "pro email"
i just forward it to my regular gmail and reply AS [email protected] and [email protected]

hope this help

In my opinon buy a .com domain name of your choice.
Then go for google g suite.
The basic starter plan for gsuite is around 3$ per month less than that.

I tried office 365, roundclube, and others but this one is the best.

You can also check out office 365, it has also some of the nice featutes but i am more fond of g suite

Thanks for the responses guys.

One thing I forgot to mention. I don't want to use any Google services, at all. Anything else goes, but no Google services. They've been banned, by me :)

I think any email service support SMTP, even the shitty one.
yahoo? hotmail? or host it yourself

If you buy a domain and use that you can have a bunch of emails under that domain.

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

I would ONLY go that route and not rely on a third party because you have more control this way.

That's it. Control.

But I am wondering. Which platform do I use for it?

What I mean by that is, for my current websites I use Roundcube. I also have the option to use Horde and SquirrelMail. But I have all my emails fowarded to 1 main Gmail, so I don't really spend much time on Roundcube, while I have Gmail open 24/7. And frankly, Gmail beats the shit out of Roundcube in every way.

Any advice on the platform?

I'll host it myself. I'm just worried about the switch from Gmail (which I have been using for years) to Roundcube, or Horde, or SquirrelMail. Those 3 options are offered by hostgator, and I've only used Roundcube so far, but it not that good in comparison to Gmail.

I use Mozilla's Thunderbird and that way I know what email account is receiving the email so there is no confusion.

Okay. Thanks everybody for your replies. Much appreciated.

I read your replies.

I read this - https://fitsmallbusiness.com/professional-email-address/

And I thought about it.

I don't want to think this to death.

My name on Facebook is NAME USERXX. That's the first 4 letters of my actual real name, and the latter is my nickname. That's what I have as my name on Facebook. That's what I have as my name on Google+, Youtube, etc, and that's what I use on other websites usually when I first register. Tumblr for example. And upon checking, it's available to register as a .com domain.

Branding myself, if you will.

So I'll register the NAMEUSERXX.com on Namechap where I have all my domains. I'll host the email on my Hostgator hosting. And I'll use Horde as my platform for accessing it.

I'll use the email -> [email protected]

After I do that, I'll go through all my other emails (gmails, hotmails, yahoos, websites emails, etc), and forward everything to arrive on my new email.

Then I'll go through and change all the important stuff (hostgator, namechap, paypal) from my previous main email (it was gmail) to my new custom email.

Okay, I think that's it. Now to execute!

This is how this all started - https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/google-disabled-my-account.1026797/

They probably did me a favor. I'll have full control now.

Fuck you Google! I spit on you!

I spit on you again!

Maybe I'll become a guru now.
