although this is useful for many reasons, using fetch as googlebot in google's webmaster tools is probably the easiest and best way to do it, this method you shared is a great way to generate naked url links, which are a vital part of your backlink profile in the post penguin era

Don't just make a generic statement. Show how you've made it work. I mentioned it a couple of times already that it did not work. A lot of servers don't accept submissions through your script.
