Well, volcanic particles reduce global temperatures. This would be looking to replicate the same effect.

Not saying its a good idea. Research is probably needed.

Volcanic dust and ash? Please tell me this is some kind of elaborate prank. At least CO2 is harmless. That shit is fatally toxic to all life on earth! Worst idea ever. Nobody should be thinking like this unless they’re a sun-hating vampire or demon or summat.

This blocks the heat.

That's why my room warms up when the sun is facing it. And that's why my room cools down when I block out the sunlight with curtains

Obviously it wouldn't involve volcanic ash, that would dumb, not to mention harder than it needs to be.

There are a number of cooling methods that have been proposed. Injecting aerosols is just one, and is probably the easiest to implement.

No it doesn’t. Not to any considerable degree in itself; lot’s of things to consider indoors like cavity insulation, windows glazing etc

Looking at the bigger picture it’s about the tilt on the earth’s axis and position relative to the sun that either heats or cools the earth on an inner level. That’s why the ice caps are always frozen even though they get six months straight of sunshine and why you can have a full afternoon of strong sun one winters day and still be walking around in the freezing cold. Nothing significant enough to do with the light itself.

We already know particles in the atmosphere work to cool the planet when emitted by a volcano.

Yeah and also there an inverse relationship between between volcanic emission and quality of life on earth. It suffocates rainforests and jungles and wildlife. The clouds produced by a nuclear bombs mimic this effects. And if there’s some dodgy chemical that nobody even knows much about sometimes not even government agencies, then there’s a potential catastrophe at our hands. Did people learn nothing from the du pont - C8 case? Nature can look after itself and has it’s own mechanisms to purify without needing to be nannied by people lol talk about having delusion of grandeur. This kind of thing will do nothing except impede good positive thing like agriculture and green tech solutions.

It's a proposed option. TBH, there aren't many options available to tackle climate change and the timeframe is shrinking.
 
Y'all can argue, they will still do it regardless your pathetic opinions. Such a waste of energy to throw arguments at each other for the "sake" of others.

Clear your mind, calm your game - You will never be Bill Gates nor powerful enough to stop something, nor will I. If the beings behind everything decide that our end should come, why struggle with dust when you can nuke the planet? Just by using little logic you come to a clearer conclusion. It's not like "they" are shy to bomb you, lel.

I don't know his intentions, so I assume they are good. But the plan it is at least crazy.

Not really how it would work.

Its not blanketing parts of the earth in dark, just tuning light and heat levels down by something like 0.5%.

Agriculture and everything else that relies on the sun would continue to function.

I'm not saying its a good idea, but its worth researching.

One of the problems of tackling current CO2 producers is that it might already be too late. Global warming is a slow process. The effects we're experiencing at this moment is from the CO2 emmited in the 80's and 90's.

We won't feel the effects of this yeara CO2 production for another 20 - 30 years.

It should be tackled but it might already be too fucked.
 
Didn't scientists in the 60's, 70's and 80's say we had like 20 years max until global warming made the earth uninhabitable then had to revise that when it obviously didn't come true?

I think AOC said that we had 10 years from 2 year ago until a similar fate befalls us. Least we won't have to wait to long to know for sure.

Last I heard, global warming simulations are being conducted by rhesus monkeys. That's just what I heard though, can't confirm it's definitely true.
