G()()gle's changed duplicate penalty

stupid cutts and stupid google only work on assumptions... who are they to decide if a site isnt providing anything of value to users... just talk about porn sites, they are useful to many users :D and at the same time provide no value to the rest and the same goes for any other site....

If iam looking to buy a new car and searching for reviews, if i see wikipedia on rank one, that would be totally useless for me, so that ways they should ban wikipedia itself...

Google's algo and their concepts have gone far beyond their control and practicality now they are just after the money, making the big companies pay them... and just supressing the small publishers... its a sheer monopoly

Although mat cutts blog is useless for black hat projects, as he's usually overstating everything.

But for white hat projects the information he puts out is golden.
He does not lie in his articles, just over exagerates everything.
So when you are dealing with a site you can't risk at all, go with his recommendations, and although it will take much more time, you will see results.

Matt Cutts is the perfect example of Corporate PR in action. He successfully represents Google and through him they instruct webmasters all over the world with whatever they want. At the end of the day, the words that get put into Matt Cutts mouth are very carefully planned and they know they'll get a reaction. Imagine for a minute that Google wants to test if a certain type of twitter message would effect results, the fastest way of getting both black and white hats to play ball would be as easy as a few carefully crafted words spoken by the puppet laureate Matt Cutts. They would certainly get a nice swift predictable reaction by thousands of people doing exactly what they want.

I wonder how hard they laugh at us all for adopting their little brazen hussy puppet in the way we all do.

And of course, Google has people looking into and no doubt reading everything they find relevant, especially the big, important forums like this and the other few. Its a great place to gauge the mood and the successful impact of things that are supposed to hurt certain types of site. I reckon if more people yelp 'ouch that hurt', when it didn't. it would help us all join in their laughter instead of just rolling over and confirming everytime they score a point.

At the end of the day. The bottom line is. For every type of business in the world, Google dictates which top 20 get the most work through their portal. This has gone way beyond skill or bluffs or links or articles or any other bullshit methods you might want to describe. It's all about Google and what Google wants. That's why social networking has them pissing their pants. There is a way, that google cannot control for a more 'people-representative' way of doing things. Instead of inbred Big G robots voting for someones work and value, it's starting to come back to being a 'people' thing. They know this because of YouTube, but they still didn't really 'Get It'. it took a clever little greedy, sneaky back stabbing geek to really get Social networking big enough to challenge Google. That's what it takes these days, unfortunately.

I look forward to Facebook offering a real alternative search mechanism. Not just one bolted onto Microsoft, but something, completely different. If anyone will do such a thing, it'll be FB, no doubt about that.

Matt Cutts is a great source of disinformation.

Matt Cutts is the HEAD of spam @ Google you dumba$$ ...be aware and pay very close attention to all the information in his blog!

In another words, follow and implement all the stuff that Cutts teaches in his blog and you win, PERIOD.

You actually had me laughing with this one! :p

A network of my older autoblogs with really spammy scraped text got hit hard, traffic has halved to those sites. They got nailed the day before Google made their latest announcement so I would assume it was part of that algo change. Other stuff has been completely unaffected.

Sites like Mahalo, eHow, Yahoo Answers, etc. are being bumped down the rankings, but they are still on the first page of the serps

50 % less trafic. it is real

Oh Yeah! Its real. My white hat site got hit. I had a RSS feed from Flickr posting to the gallery. It really was a nice mash up for visitors to my site. But Mat Cunts just took away my $5 a day so fuck whatever my visitors want. G()()gle has decreed that sites with content from RSS feeds are to be de-indexed by the search engine monopoly.

Dear Darwin, please let FB eat the Internet.

I had two amazon/youtube sites moved from PAGE ONE to page 100

Well, I heard this on NPR. There was a guy there talking about the changes g--gle did. This was supposed to be a big change on its algorithm. Those changes had already affected ehow's sites, they were not on the first page on G as they use to be.

I had a new blog with about 6 page on g already. I check them and they were gone. My article directory lost about 4000 pages as well.

Google will always fail. They think they can control the minds and actions of the people. It will always be a difficult thing for them to defeat thousands of internet marketers with all kinds of blackhat tactics. They will always fail.

Google was the search engine that brought about the issue of PAGERANK. They gave more relevance to sites with backlinks from other sites, especially authority sites. The more the backlinks and the more the quality, the more your pagerank would increase. It was that issue that made people to really start the craze to get backlinks at all cost, writing and blasting thousands of articles to article directories and big web 2.0 sites in order to get backlinks, thereby increasing pagerank and then increase in serps.

The whole backlink issue has been messed up due to the fault of Google. With this new algo, new things will emerge in order to always make Google fail. Google has declared another war. The good thing is that it is a challenge for blackhatters to always create new ways of beating the whole set of rules. Google will fail again.

The latest Google changes had a very positive impact on one of my niche websites. It ranked 6th on Google's search results for a certain keyword and now it's 2nd and 4th(2 different pages).

On another keyword I had one page on the 7th position I now have 2 pages ranking 2nd and 3rd, an ezine article ranking 5th and my hub on hubpages ranking 9th.

Even an autoblog with very little unique content which used to appear on the 5th page is now on the 2nd(position 11).

No losses so far. :)

Google is not as perfect as they think. All the things they use are bots which do things with automated means. And bots can easily be manipulated, cheated and bypassed.

they usually haul the big propaganda machine to get more press making people think they're on top of all this when it'll wind up cooling off quickly and things stabilizing yet again. every change up always causes some shaking down in placement, but as long as she continue on, your site goes right back up.

interesting that they're going after Huffington Post, but with AOL buying up that blog, they'll be quiet real quick to get those ad dollars.

maybe this will teach some people to spin their content way better along with putting some of the shadier services on here out of biz.
