Not at first. I had been working from home 2 days a week. This new job I'll stay in office for a while, and then slowly get back to the two-day-per-week working from home. I don't mind working in the office at all. What I do mind is the two hours a day it takes up between commuting and such.

I have always believed that when high value marketers join firms/agency, the overall net value of the industry rises.

I have had the pleasure to work with some of the most talented people in the industry. And while I used to get surprised when they took up roles in the Digital Marketing space as an employee to a firm or an agency selling DM itself - I have seen the value they have put forth towards the industry as a whole.

I have run an ORM firm in the past that made some good money. Right now I have a ton of websites building up that I've put a good bit of time and money into throughout 2018. 2019 is my year to shine. I'm actually taking December to audit my projects, prioritize and hit the ground running. The $365,000 in 2019 is going to happen, and will remain updated properly this time. Especially with a relevant role and far less of a day job cannibalizing my working hours outside the standard 40.

Best of luck to you! I'll tell you now, a lot of strictly SEO companies underpay. I am being paid $15,000 per year more for a large company as their digital marketing specialist than I would have as Director of SEO for a company focused on that.

Congratulations! Having a stable income/benefits and being able to do IM full time...That's just greedy.

I'm three months into this role now. There are a ton of meetings compared to my last job. However, instead of being stuck in my cube doing things where I will never get any recognition, I'm now interacting with the highest levels of people in a multibillion dollar company. People are remembering my name. I'm getting paid the upper 10% for my role, am already getting a raise and bonus, and have had the notion of a manager promotion tossed at me.

Now to chip away at some of the 20 projects I've got on the side so I can actually enjoy some of my free hours...
