Yelp is based off of activity, age, area and how often you log in, how many good and bad reviews you leave if you have lots of active friends your reviews will almost always stick. Negative reviews seem to stick no matter your status with Yelp it's really stupid but its how they run their business Google is starting to use some of the same tactics on their own filter just much less strict.
