Or adobe, autodesk, basically any of the big name graphic design programs. I installed linux long ago but was way to limited in basically all the applications I wanted to install. Good for people who dont need to do much with their computers.

I keep the updates at notify only. I do not update until the updates are checked out, generally by others, but sometimes I do my own dirty work. You will find that you have to keep some services running; else you will be reinstalling. Most commercial firewalls do no better than the Windows firewall from W7 up, and all of the firewalls have security holes in them. Most of the malware is unknown by the antivirus purveyors.

I have not had a computer virus or known malware infection since Windows Millennium, and I do a lot of "unsafe" stuff. I have more problems with Microsoft than any virus or malware.

And if you must know, I use a Windows phone for the same reason - the Android stream is unsafe while the Windows Phone stream is safe. My phone is even running Windows 10. But on a phone I expect to be tracked.

Well, buy yourself a Macbook and forget about all these Microsoft bullshit. Windows XP worked like a charm for me and then I didn't update through Vista, my second update was with a new computer and a Windows 7, which was really good and maybe better than 7. I just bought my new Mac and my brother updated my old PC on Windows 10 and I wanted to try it - Sucks totally. So glad that I changed to Mac
