so your complaining because you want to make money BUT
you dont want Elon making a return on his investment.
if you dont like twitters fees, buy something else.

Musk doesn't have anything to gain from your bots, so he put an end to it. Plus, it helps reducing spam in the community, which is bad for people around here but good for everyone else. I understand why you're upset, but there's a logical and benefical reason behind his actions

API has ended for damn near all good tools. Even hootsuite is having problems.

Thanks for selenium, puppeteer XD

Those changes are to help don't you see, he needs to recover all the money he used to buy twitter sell it and run away from it, defenetely Elon is making eveything harder for everyone, basically twitter is becoming like a VIP place, if you want to see content pay for it, want to use our API pay and extra money! do you want another security method for your account pay for it security is not free right now twitter sucks.

They have done it before Musk took over ( ). Their docs say you can still create tweets with free tier (https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api/getting-started/about-twitter-api)

The amount of spam is equal to what it was before, if not more actually. By having a system with 1st (blue) and 2nd (non-blue) class users, you essentially allow them to get to "bribe" their way the top of conversation by having a blue check-mark ($8 i believe) which makes your spam more visible and seem more trustworthy. The only thing that changed is instead of using API wrapper to make few quick requests, you need a web automation framework.

i think it's funny that twitter is probably the only api i feel would be worthless at $100 a month

writing that i noticed that it's $1.2k a year... sheesh...

totally agree with your pic, aside of using regex to parse html, that should only be a plan B. parsing the DOM is much better for performance ;)

Elon's blue check isn't bringing home the bacon like he thought it would.

Eventually it'll cost you just to log in.

Too bad this won't stop the automations :D

It might even make the bot market skyrocket, as now it's more worthwhile to pay for a bot monthly than to spend $100 on an api.

how do you guys used to make money with twitter api before ?
