Really weird to me, been a paypal member for many years and i do keep fairly large balances in my personal and business account and never had an issues with them. I did have to go though all their verification guide lines etc but never had any issues that alot of u seem to be having. Now to be honest you got me worried. Might have to transfer my money to my bank account, i just like using my paypal credit card and make my payments from from my paypal account..

You really have no idea why they canceled you? People disputing charges etc on you?

Well, a representative of theirs called me the other day and wanted to have a chat.
She said that she would appeal to the developers so I could have my account back, but the next day I received another template email from them, saying that it was impossible to do so.

I do not intend to create another Paypal account. I'm done with them.

Paypal closed my account last week, with several different excuses. I sent them my ID, associated my bank account, and had the biz account for four years (or more), and they simply closed it out of blue. Gladly I had withdrawn and had only like 15$ in there.

Same thing with EPN. A couple of days later they closed my EPN account, stating it was related to a previously banned account. WTF? It was my only account.

Fuck them both, I say.

Quit bitching and sue paypal in the small claims court, where you don't need a lawyer & its a small set fee. I did... and they didn't even turn up on the day & i got a default win plus costs .

A TOS [terms of service] is not THE "law". Although paypal implys in there TOS that there arbitration on issues is final...its just a big bluff.

Do a google on "paypal small claims court" & you will discover there is a cheap & easy way to fuck gaypal

I got my paypal account limited once and it take me 3 weeks to again get my account. When I discuss them in details, they tell me that they limited a/c because of so many unverified paypal transactions and want to know the details of 4 transcations. I got my account back but after 4 transactions charge back. They just refund that money without any dispute with buyer. But I was happy, i got my a/c back.

I think, leaving large sum of money is never a good idea. Not only can paypal get an*l at times but the other problem is a hacker. It's not at difficult for somebody to put keyloggers and firefox password stealer on your PC and get what ever info they want.

Try calling them again and see what's going on.. Keep complaining! Especially, if it's a Biz account.

well even before reading this thread i was worried about my $200+ because no matter how trust worthy a website is you can never count on them and its internet and you cant do anything about it. So i Just Sent them to my bank account and now they are safe always remeber not to keep big amounts Keep Sending them to your legimate Bank Accounts.

I took the advice and have around 50 approved in various ways... they do ban one or two each season but no big deal in making new ones.

paypal are notorious for poor customer service, and closing. I moved house mid pay pal transaction, many premium rate calls to a call centre in ireland later they eventually released my money. Unfortunatley they are hand in hand with ebay, cannot really use one without the other.

You would think they'd give more leeway on a paypal *business* account.

Like with any paymentment processer if you keep to the rules should not get to many problems maybe try Alert Pay they are a bit more relaxed

Yeah gaypal is really stupid, banning accounts left and right, it really sucks that lots of people use them when there are way better payment processors out there.

Story I read online:

Honest eBay Seller sells used laptop to Buyer. Sellers ToS gives Buyer 10 days to request refund due to defect. Buyer waits 15 days, contacts Seller and says laptop doesn't work. Seller says that it's too late, and sale is final due to being 15 days past the date it was recieved. Buyer lies about date laptop was recieved and Deller documents the lie. (He has proof from UPS on when the laptop actually was delivered.)

Buyer files dispute with PayPal. PayPal requires Seller to take back the laptop and refunds the money to the Buyer, despite the ToS and the documentation of the lie regarding when the item was delivered. Seller has money taken from his PayPall account and refunded back to buyer.

When laptop is delivered back to Seller, Seller discovers the laptop has been exchanged for a different one. Returned laptop is same model, etc... but has obvious signs of abuse. It is obvious that the Buyer has exchanged his broken laptop for a working one from eBay. That the laptop's are exactly the same proves that Buyer intended to scam the Seller from the very beginning.

End Result: Seller has laptop stolen from him, and PayPal enforces the theft.

The Lesson: Never leave more than $10.00 in your PayPal account. Any time a signficant amount of money is deposited into your PayPal account, transfer that money out immediately and into your Bank Account.

Had the Seller done this, PayPal would not have had the "easy out" of making the Seller responsible. In order to "refund" the Buyer, PayPal would have paid THEIR money to do so. With that as the only route, PayPal would have put more effort into the facts of the situation, and correctly understood the scam for what it was. The money in the Seller's account is what gave PayPal the ability to resolve the situation with the least amount of effort and time.
