Copyright is a joke. How can a person say you can't use a shade of orange, or a typeface. A picture is put on a blog - use you be able to use it as you see fit.

It's fucking blackhearted joke.

It mostly is a joke on the internet. Take down the old one, find a new one and move on.

DMCA violations just mean you're doing things well enough that you caught someone's attention. Take it as a good sign, not a bad one.

Oh, and be sure it's a real notice. A lot of our competitors like to dress up in drag... I mean lawyer costumes and send out bullshit. Happens all the time.

On a side note: as a published author I'm of mixed feelings about the whole thing. a) If I were Stephen King, I'd probably be pissed if my stuff got copied. That could mean several dollars out of my pocket. b) I'm not Mr. King, so anytime I find my material copied somewhere, even without proper attribution, I actually chuckle a little because they either thought I was a good author (and sometimes they're right) or just didn't pay attention to what their bot grabbed when I was a bit off, so they'll get pounded for it in the serps eventually.

Meh, just move on. Not worth stressing about ANY of this shit. Just adapt.

copyright is at least better that patent - now that is a stupid thing these days. Small 2 cent it companies registering 'ideas' that they can't build, make, demonstrate or even have any idea of how they may implement it and then suing the person who actually does invent the damn thing.
