Freelancer.com: Is it a Scam or Legit?

Actually - Scriptlancer.com is also converted to Freelancer.com.... But what is exact problem of Freelancer, All Employers Require SEO work, but they pay only if you complete the work & many time what happen hire person require some initial milestone (AMT) & they not understand the whole things .... but there is all ads like "First result then Money", I don't understand why people work on that basis, If you want work then its ok but the reality is different, Freelancer website is good but the people not understand all the criteria

Freelancer is a serious problem as a company you don't want to deal with them. its full of scammers and people who want to steal your money and yea paypal disputes with them are a nightmare.

I had to spend $250 on small projects to get to know a few freelancers. Once I found the right person, I haven't used anyone else for certain types of work. Worked for me.

I see people that are scammed and that's YOUR fault, I did 2 projects and the buyers said that I'm very good worker. A week ago I posted a project and the workers (all from Pakistan and S.Arabia) were trying to scam me but I'm not that naive, they were asking to pay them upfront via Skrill and I refused it and didn't find worker. If you got scammed it's YOUR fault because you should do the transactions on the site, not via PayPal or Skrill. In this case you can't be scammed.
If you are worker: Don't start working until the employer do the milestone.
If you are employer: Don't release the milestone until the job is done.

Freelancer is really good once you put in some effort. You need to find good contractors even there, just like in the real world.

No...that site is not a scam...its from one of the top freelancing sites!

Getting jobs from Odesk, elance, Freelancer.com or even scriptlance will really take much of your time, effort because you will really need to work for it just to get the job- how? by lowering down your bid just to defeat the competition and build your profile.

This, I placed my bid on a few projects, but soon realized it's never gonna work. Unrealistic offers and scammers everywhere. I don't know about other areas, but SEO area is full of them. It seems every kid with a SB and AA list with 1000 OBL on average is a guru nowadays

No offense to the rep of Freelancer and I know it's hard to weed out who the scammers are on your site, but there are A LOT of scammers on your site lol. Even ones that are reported keep on coming back on or don't have their accounts suspended. There are freelancers who are rated "top freelancers" because they use other accounts and give themselves fake ratings. Ridiculoussss

I have worked there last year, but left now, totally failed to compete with so many cheap bidders from outside.
