I agree with the consensus that: the sticking with your stock OS editor (WMM , imovie ) is the best route , if your persistent on not paying for anything or not pirating anything at all. I am a vegas fan all day every day , so much so , i will mention it in a free software thread, even though it is very expensive ,because, if your serious about editing, its worth the investment. Vegas has a lot of long term utility. Ten year old vegas builds are still considered professional quality, while , three year old adobe products (that also run an arm and a leg) are considered laughably out of date. If you can afford to drop 3 figures on a vegas install disk, i would do that. If you just want something free to "slap together" some footage, stick with WMM, or whatever your OS came with, unless you are running linux, then you can download Openshot for free.
