Anyone know of a good, free plagiarism checker that actually works? I've tried about a dozen of them so far and they all show no matches on pieces of content I copied right off the Internet.

I tried both plagium and duplichecker. Neither one showed any matches. Yeah, Copyscape is cheap enough. I was just wondering if there was a good, free alternative. Never hurts to save a few pennies.

for duplichecker you need to have a free account so you can search your whole website for duplicates, after signing in with your account there will be an extra space where you can input your website url.

Agreed just type small seo tools plagiarism checker into google. You're only allowed to do like 20 searches a day but if you open an inprivate tab or a new browser you can carry on

you can also always copy a few sentences and google them you will see if anyone else is using them. Its a long shot but free tools like this are almost never great.

This tool is crap. I've sent so many articles through it and it claims there are duplicate phrases out there and even has links to the search queries with those phrases. However, when I actually click on it, nothing appears in the results.

Seems like a waste to me.

Try ''Advego Plagiatus'' a free russian desktop app. The interface is in russian but you need to chose from 2 modes of scanning, so the language will not be a problem (note: I do not understand russian). In general I think this tool is very decent.

I've been using duplichecker. It's not bad for free service.
