Franklin Hattchet Method

I want to work on the Franklin Hattchet (I haven't really fully understood it) method and I have a niche chosen, but I would like to know if it is necessary to use ads? I have some good fanbase of obsessive book and show fans of about 250k+ fans, and I think I will directly post the shopify links?
