Four tips to be successful in Internet marketing. I?ve been in BHW for quite a few years and this is to dedicate my 1000th post. You may have been lurking around BHW or some Internet marketing forum and look around and spend your whole day wasting time in the making money section or following journey threads. Or you may have been taking action and not having any success. I was that person too. Success is comes from you. How much perseverance do you have? How self-disciplined are you? 1. Do What you Love, Love What you do. It?s easier to devote your required mental and physical energy if you're naturally interested in what you are doing. This could be managing CPA websites, PPC, Graphic design, being a VA, or content writing. You have two options: either learn to love that task or outsource it. Take content writing, for example. A few of us may enjoy writing and would love to write more and develop a style of writing, others hate writing or have better things to do and outsource it. 2. Never Stop Learning Keep an open mind at all times, don?t assume you know anything without evidence to back it up. This applies to every aspect of your venture. Having started a business providing a service or product in a field you already have some expertise in, don?t let that stop you improving. Read books on offline marketing, coding, business, self-help books. Books can inspire you and help you move further. What can you do to improve your core skills beyond their current level? What can you do to bring those things that you are poor at up to an acceptable level? 3. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life Entrepreneurs are positive, ?glass-is-half-full? individuals. Quite apart from the sheer amount of work required to bring a business into being and apply heart massage until it can breathe on its own, you?ll also find yourself against government bureaucracy (offline) and the inevitable naysayers. How you deal with disaster is much more important than how you react in the good times. Captain Cock-up is the best instructor you could wish for, as long as you learn from it. A key element of this attitude is ?never give up, never surrender?. In short, don?t let problems undermine your confidence in your own ability. Take comfort from the fact that all internet marketers mess up on a regular basis. If you can combine the willingness to learn with an unshakeable belief in your own ability, you?ll stay confident without being arrogant ? the ideal combination. 4. Work Your Nuts off There?s no getting away from it: setting up your own venture is hard work. If it isn?t, you?re either unbelievably lucky or missing opportunities. While it?s important to retain a sense of balance, there?s no doubt that in the early days you?ll be devoting much of your time to your venture, whether you?re setting up full-time or running it alongside your job. Of all the qualities of the great entrepreneurs, a work ethic is share by just all of them. That?s not to say hard work on its own guarantees success: effort expended without a plan is a waste of time. But without hard work, the greatest plan never sees the light of day. Bonus tip: Get a dog See what I did there? Promised you four tips and then sneaked in a free bonus. Get a dog? I?m completely serious. If there?s one action that has had more impact on my performance than any other, it?s the regular walks Dobby is subjected to. The size and breed of dog is unimportant (Dobby is a French Bulldog) as long as they like, or even demand, walks. Three reasons to get a dog: First, They make you take exercise. If you work full-time for yourself, especially from home, the temptation is to sit at the computer all day pounding away at the keyboard without a break. A brisk walk with the dog and you?ll return refreshed and ready for the next challenge. Second, Running a business is a lonely activity. Even if you have a supportive family, friends and even employees, being the boss is a lonely position. Having a dog sitting asleep in the corner of your office makes you feel less aline and lowers the blood pressure. Finally, by far the most important reason is this: the vast majority of good ideas I?ve had in the past few years have popped into my head as I?ve been walking the dog. Just start walking and think about nothing at all. Relaxing the analytical part of your brain allows the creative subconscious and right-brain to get your attention. If you?re a dog owner already, you probably don?t need convincing. If now, why not borrow someone else?s dog (with their permission, of course) and see what pops up? And Finally? It?s an exciting time to be doing Internet Marketing, and doing so can be a life-changing experience. Work hard on your niche and you have success in the palm of your hands. Good luck, and welcome to the club!
