Hi all, I wanna ask experienced forex traders about trading bots,

I noticed that on the 1m chart, whenever there is a big economic even like interest rate decisions or CPI there is an instant and very big move either

bullish or bearish depending on the data provided, a human cannot be that fast cz changes happens in few seconds after data released

Since I'm into web automation, can I manage to make a bot that automates trades depending on economic calender, or is there something I'm missing?

You can, there are some that do this already but in the end its just an expensive coin flip trading bot. Price is either going to go up or down really fast. Essentially you would just hedge, one position is going to get filled and go into profit while one isnt. Its as simple as trendline trading. I have a grid trading EA that i always have running that does fairly well but its grid trading so eventually its going to go bust.

No, a bot that automates based on fundamental data would be useless - the numbers don't always translate to price action that follows.

As far as bots go, I had one made a few years ago [still have it, don't use it] that relied on certain parameters and quick entries + exits - more in line with frequency trading.. it worked well for a pool I had back then, but my broker figured out and said it was 'against the policies' BS and I stopped using it [I chose to stick to said broker instead cuz of years of trust in terms of my money - which is more important for me] but yeah was a good solid 2-3 quarters while it lasted while I sat back and relaxed.

I do not recommend it.

Better learn price action, candles and market structure fundamentals. Because with a bot you cannot read into market's hesitation. For instance when you see high volume entering a candle on the lower timeframes suddenly, you can make dynamic decisions based on price hesitation to change or not. If you account for open interest, cumulative volume differentials etc there is just too much dynamic information that cannot be accurately captured with a bot.
