Forex Student Position Available - Enquire Within.

heh, makes sense -but thats the reason i hate it! -

its such a large risk for little reward, due to positioning of stops etc. you can gt whipsaw'd pretty easily unless you want to risk even more, but thats just the game i guess.

I've made all i've wanted to today so i'm calling it quits for tiday, theres been some very nice big moves which i got in & out of pretty quick so im happy.

Shame my nerves got in the way (i got about 20 pips out of a 300 pip move!) of it would of been very very good!

Forex will always be here tomorrow though!

2 points about that - 1) Taking profits is NEVER wrong - although it is best to let winning positions ride and 2) if you had the right plan, why didn't you make more?

Side issue: I see my friends at IG Index now have trailing stops....

pure nerves - figured "if its moved this far it'll reverse soon", technicals were telling me to do it, but i didn't take anymore just incase. 3% is fine for a day trading anyway.

IG do binaries don't they? i've always been interested at those, but thats bascally pure gambling i guess. If i was good with stock i'd love them! Its a shame there platform isn't downloadable & able to run on a local machine, if it was it'd be amazing.

Binaries are based on one-touch options (I invented them - for someone else!) :)

Hey jammie,

I've been following your forex posts in a couple threads and I'm interested in the position as I've just started learning about forex very recently (literally yesterday) and want to begin with a solid foundation.

I'm male, 22 years old, I have Skype, and I've just graduated from university with a Marketing degree. As a result, I'm at home all day and will be available full-time for the training everyday including weekends. I am also a very quick learner and can adhere to systems without deviating, even in the tough times.

At this point in my life, money and more specifically, self-generated income means that I can take control of my future and allow myself to do what I truly want to do without being restrained by the limitations of the traditional working world. I feel that since I am young, this is the time that I should put forth my full effort to secure a bright future for myself. I am very interested in forex because of the fact that I can be anywhere in the world with Internet access and still be able to work, something I've always dreamed of. These next years in my life, I want to make enough money to allow me to travel the world constantly.

I understand that it took you over 2 years of hard work to develop the strategy you will be sharing and that you have been studying forex for 4 years. It is generous of you to offer to teach what took you so long to learn to others and rather than going on and on about what I want, I feel it is necessary to show you that I can provide the following skills in return:

1.) I am a great presenter and have been commended for my presentation and communication skills over the years. In my last course in Uni, I gave a presentation about "Working for Yourself" in a public speaking class and ended up with an A in the class.

As a result, at the end of the 6 month period, I can provide professional Camtasia-style videos detailing the strategies you taught me, phone coaching support for clients who purchase the system and, if you choose, I can participate in conference calls for members of your "inner-circle" if you decide to go that route and really take it to the next level.

2.) I am also a great writer and can provide writing for the e-book, copy writing for the marketing and I can keep a daily diary detailing the results of the system.

At the age of 14, I made $6000 in the stock market using strategies learned by myself from the Internet and from books. Since then, I haven't been involved with the market and now is the perfect opportunity for me to get back into investing as I have all the time in the world to do it.

I realize that it will still take a lot of time to make a lot of money with this system and I am willing to be patient with it and continue at this everyday for the next 6 months, next year, 2 years, etc. even if there are only little or no profits to begin with.

If you could do that then I suggest you search around the net now. You will find lots of free stuff on the latest technical analysis approaches and details of many, many strategies.

Backtest some of them and see if you can make money with Forex. Currently, selling short in the stock markets seems like a good bet though.

Thanks for the advice Phil, I'm currently testing a strategy I found which uses a custom indicator in MT4.

Do you know of any place in particular where I can find profitable strategies that actually work? Anything you could recommend?

In the current markets I wouldn't recommend anything except keeping your money under the bed :)

1.) Application::
2.) I have no Forex experience, but I do have basic stock trading experience.
3.) Male
4.) I am 20 years old
5.) Live in the United States, and do not have Skype, but can get it if selected.

What Money Means to Me

People say money does not buy happiness. I disagree. If you do not have money to pay your mortgage, are you happy? If you do not have money to pay for internet, are you happy? If you can not buy food, are you happy? I think you get the idea. (If you cant pay for [something you love/need], are you happy?) Most everything has a price.

Having money will allow you to live life without worry. It will allow you freedom from the day to day grind that most people are accustomed to. If you have to work 5 out of 7 days a week 8 hours a day you are a prisoner in this world, you are not fully enjoying life. You are wasting your one opportunity to witness the beauty of being alive.

I, sadly, am a prisoner...

I'm following phil's advice atm - not trading. The markets can still be traded, however due to volitility and how the economy, it really *REALLY* doesn't suit this style, so i can't really teach people much at the moment.

The markets aren't really trending which is bad for me (momentum trading). I've been whipsawed plenty of times the last few weeks because traders don't know where the market wants to move to.

Of course, the opportunities are there, but i don't fancy stalking a chart for 7 hours waiting for one.

For those interested heres how i trade. Look up how to use the indicators yourself and make decisions based on logic, not on mind. I won't go into details but just play around and you'll see how i use it.

---

Technicals:

Simple MA (Close) - 21 period.
Bollinger Bands. 0.5 & -0.5 deviations.
RSI - 21 period
Slow Stochastic - Default
MACD - default.
Candlesticks - Doji Stars (evening & morning), marubozu.
Hisotrical sup. & res.
Trade volume
Fib levels - basic retracements & expansions.

Fundamentals:

None & avoid trading around them. (news, press releases etc.)

How i trade them:

Wait for a confirmed reversal & last close was outside of the bands, check volume being traded is pretty high. Check technicals to make sure they're in your favour (not overbought/sold, no divergance. MA is on your side of the market etc. etc.)

Enter trade with profit just shy of next resistance (either fib or historical - whichever is closest. use retracement & expansions to help.) stop loss is just below support levels (i.e. if it breaks support you'll be stopped out). Always use a stop loss.

I'm not giving away the main part of my system though which is all the risk mamangement etc. everyone has there own ways so just develop your own.

I won't be trading for 9-10 weeks due to current work commitments, but we'll see how the markets are then. Hopfully they'll of settled.

Sorry to dissapoint, but i really didn't expect this work to come through. Once i get a break this will be back on.

Hey Jammie.. I've been lurking for a bit now and I just signed up because I'm your ideal test client. I know absolutely nothing about Forex and I'm anxious to learn. I'm 21 and in the US (I have Skype).

I question my motives a lot. I like knowing why exactly I do things. I don't know myself entirely and I suspect no one does. I wonder why I want to make money, and I don't know really. What money means to me?

I don't need money. I feel very close to buddhist ideas, and I often feel the urge to shun possessions and money. Other times I scheme hard for it. I would do just as well living on a piece of land farming my own food or living off of the massive surplus of food and empty housing in any major city.. but as it stands now, I live in a capitalist culture, where money drives the car. I want money. I do. Not to buy a bunch of fancy cars or a big house. I would be happy living in a shoebox with the roommates I have now. I don't need money in my life, but I've chosen to acquire it. I want to do interesting things with it. I want to fund certain research with it. I want to pay for my schooling with it. I want to help people with it. I want to use it to buy a million bouncy balls and drop them down the road just to watch them fall.

Money to me is the fuel for the forces in the world that need to be driven. So thanks for reading Jammie. Good luck with your program :)

who's your broker? I may be interested in messing around with small amounts.

thanks for the tips.

18 years old guy, no forex experience at all, skype, money = freedom

my brokers alpari, i'd recommend them. However if you're UK based and going to start with a few grand, spread bet as its tax free.

whenever the market picks back up, if you still dont have anyone and are interested in teaching a complete noob, id be down for it.

money doesnt mean shit to me to be honest, but debt does. Im 40k in debt from students loans for my computer network systems degree, and im still new-jobless in good old michigan, so im exploring other options to pay this off. im 23 and male since you wanted to know.

I have zero experience with forex, all I know is its currency trading.

I was 2nd in the state at my high school for the stock market game (yea whoopdie doo lol but maybe I got a hidden knack for it), but that was a good amount of years ago now, and was also just a game. been to afraid to get into it with real money.

I cant offer you to much besides committment, but if it all worked out in the end I would scratch your back for sure.

I am 21,
From the UK, live in London
and just graduated in Finance, Accounting and Management,
I have msn and skype and am currently looking for grad jobs for Sept 09 start so I am extremely free atm!
I have had a practice spread betting account for a while,
Pm me if you're still looking for trainee :-)

Thanks Jammie

whenever the market picks back up.....

Which demonstrates the problem. It's not about the market 'picking up' - it's about having a market in which 'normal behaviour' can be observed. If this bank shake out results in tighter government control (quite likely) then there will be a whole new set of market behaviour to be observed.

Anyone who thinks that 200GBP is enough to start trading the FOREX (real or demo account) has misguided views and will be out of the "trading game" in a very short amount of time.

Anyone who has this much info on their screen:

Simple MA (Close) - 21 period.
Bollinger Bands. 0.5 & -0.5 deviations.
RSI - 21 period
Slow Stochastic - Default
MACD - default.
Candlesticks - Doji Stars (evening & morning), marubozu.
Hisotrical sup. & res.
Trade volume
Fib levels - basic retracements & expansions.

will not see the actual charts and in my opinion ( and I have been wrong before ) is just "fishing" for clues...

Anyone, who ignores the fundamentals is ignoring reality and what is going on around them.

Please everyone, read this book for your own sake before you think you can turn 200GBP into a small fortune "Fooled by randomness" by Nassim Taleb.

A.
