For All You Smokers...

People smoke in social settings, the nicotine gets into their system consistently and they begin to look for the headrush more and more.

Eventually, you don't feel anything at all while smoking. You're just going through the motions.

I'm actually trying to quit right now - I never enjoyed smoking cigarettes by themselves, but I mix tobacco with my weed all of the time.

I essentially get my nicotine through that, but trying to break the habit ASAP! I DON'T WANT HEART DISEASE!

I smoked too. Everybody always talks about the risk of lung cancer etc. but for some reason I was always more worried about heart disease, which is also the reason why I quit.

You guys sound crazy. So just because sigs wont kill you right away you say fuck it?????

It might sound all fine and dandy now but when your actually on your death bed and you realize "damn, I could have lived another 10-20 years if I didn't smoke" you will regret it.

You only live once (as far as we can currently tell) and you need to be grateful for every day on this earth. If you just think about the odds of this planet being here + the odds of life being developed you will see life different. Shit even the odds of you being born are 1 in 150-300 million (depending on how much sperm your dad had).

Rant over.

I don't care I'm still gonna smoke til I die. Why does everybody want to live to 100 years old? At that age I'll be wearing a diaper incase I accidently shit on myself, my penis will be useless, it will be a mission just to be able to get out the bed or walk. I'll lose all my teeth and will be forced to eat apple sauce every day. If i have sex i might die of a heart attack. I won't be able to do shit other then watch non stop reruns of Matlock on tv.....If you want to live to be 100 years old by all means go for it. Its your loss.

Your post reminded me of one of Maddox's old e-mails.

What makes you think that animals suffer in slaughter houses anyway? I think it would rule to be raised for slaughter. Get all the free steroids you want, free meals and plenty of good company--hell, you have it made. Then when you're at the prime of your life, you get your head generously chopped off so you don't have to live through the suffering of old age. Not only that, but you can die with the satisfaction of knowing that somebody is going to enjoy eating a burger made out of you. What's more humane? Being slaughtered for meat or having to spend 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week in a cubicle for the rest of your life with assholes who listen to shitty music without headphones, then retiring and withering away with old age and cancer as your obnoxious kids grow up and treat you like shit? Slaughter please.

I still smoke 2 packs a day of camel straights (no filter) and I love them. The funny thing, every time I get arrested I get cleaned up but its always the first thing I get when I get out. In fact I just did 60 days this spring and still got right back to chain smoking. I'm a smart guy.

"Cleaned up" from smoking or something worse? I don't like to probe into peoples business but I'm a long term recovering opiate addict. Former chemist and drug manufacturer. I know some decent ways to break bad habits.

With smoking, I smoked a pack a day for like 10 years. One thing I know about Camels and Marlboro's it's not necessarily the nicotine that's so addictive as it is the >>>additives.

I can prove this too. Go chew on nicotine gum or suck on lozenges for 6 months. Then try stopping. It's a cakewalk (in context to real drugs). So nicotine in it's isolated form ... I don't care what neuroscientists say, it's not very addictive. If nicotine is as addictive as so many experts claim... why don't we see droves of people hooked on nicotine gum and lozenges ?

What I did that helped (a lot) was switch from major brand cigarettes like Marlboro Menthol (& occassionally Camel Menthol) to a non-additive brand.

I made a long post about this a while ago. But I experimented with a bunch of non additive brands till I found one that tasted like my normal Marlboro's. Which was American Spirit Menthol. Then I smoked like this:

18 Marlboro Menthol / 2 American Spirit (week 1)
16 Marlboro Menthol / 4 American Spirit (week 2)
14 Marlboro Menthol / 6 American Spirit (week 3)

etc etc. Something weird happened when I got to an even 50/50 split. Which I stayed at for a couple months. I UNINTENTIONALLY stopped smoking so much. That compulsory drive to pick up a cigarette one after another slowly started disappearing. Almost like I was "forgetting" to smoke. I also experienced withdrawals. Although my nicotine intake hadn't technically dropped.

I kept this going & 1 day realized, "I don't like the way Marlboro's taste". So I dropped them completely. My theory why, (like I already said) it's not nicotine but all this shit causing addiction:

That's just A-E. Doesn't even include the real bad stuff like arsenic, cadmium, formaldehyde, ammonia, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen cyanide, toluene, hexamine, etc. When all these additives were approved by the FDA, they weren't approved for the purposes of smoking.

It's well known if you give a low dose of arsenic to a rat (non-lethal) that rat will develop a tolerance to arsenic. So it can take in higher levels. Then overtime that rat becomes physically dependent on arsenic. When arsenic is removed, the rats organs detoxify leading to a withdrawal like syndrome. It's counter intuitive but humans get addicted to everything (including poisons). I remember first time I smoked a cigarette I threw up. That's the "healthy" way to react to a cigarette.

But when you're consistently exposed to 4000+ chemicals, 69 that are known poisons, those chemicals build up in your brain and bloodstream. Biology must adapt. And I'd bet my bank the sum cumulative dependence on all these chemicals is much more addictive than nicotine itself.

Now that I smoke American Spirits I smoke 3-5 day. There's a natural reverse tolerance at work. No anti lung bleeding additives. No anti coughing additives. No anti inflammatory additives. No "anti burn taste" in your mouth. With Marlboro I'd get a bad taste in my mouth but it was somehow altered so it wasn't that bad. With non additives it's not altered. If I smoke too much it's an ashy/metal taste (as opposed to a "numb taste"). Or my throat will swell. Or I'll cough when I'm suppose to like I'm suppose to. That shit seldom happened with big brand tobacco even when I was smoking 4xs as much.

TLDR: If you're a smoker, try bridging to a non additive brand. I firmly believe it makes a difference.

I quit smoking some years ago. I really liked the feeling of the smoke goes down on my throat and fills my lungs. I loved watching the smoke dancing in the sunshine while traveling to somewhere far. Let's not to mention the social advantages of smoking now.
I quit not because of my lungs hurt of the 1-4 packet of cigarettes a day. Nor the smell of tobacco all around me at all the time or the fear of SUFFERING before I die because of cancer. Because of one thing.

I hate being addicted to something.

I hated it controlled me at all the time.
I was looking for places where it was allowed to smoke at all the time.
I was worried to have enough cigarettes to last me for a day and where to buy the next day at all the time.

I really liked quitting too. though. I really enjoyed how my body was carving for the nicotine. It was interesting to experience how my brain was trying to convince me to have only one more. It was a hell of a fight but it was good!

It was so good that I'm into new challenges since then. I'm quitting sugar now.

I took up smoking, to make me look cool.

It worked I'm the fonz

I knew ciggies were crammed full of additives, but anti-lung bleeding junk? Fuck!

I loved Golden Virginia rolling tobacco for years, but now I only use my Vape, and often reach the evening before even remembering I have the thing. Perhaps nicotine isn't all that addictive after all.

If you get arrested and do time that often, smoking is not a real problem for you....

anyway back to the thread. I've never smoked, but find me a none smoker who has lived forever....

Fucking go forward and do all the drink, drugs, hookers and anything else you want to do. Your time will come to an end if you do it or not.

Want to ride bikes at 180mph? Do it. Want to jump on a F1 track during a race to take a selfy, do it. Want to go swim with sharks, do it. Want to masturbait on top of a sky scraper? do it. If you fall off and die it just means you died today instead of some other day.

It changes nothing.

Made my day and put a smile on my face. Thanks :)

OT: Cancer is way way more likely when you have a genetic predeposition for it, my grandfather died naturally at 93 and he smoked 2 packs per day for 70 years.

If those images on cigarette packages can't get you to stop smoking then no one will...

To all those non smokers
everyday millions die and i dont know why so let me crave my cig and you stay away from the passive smoke.
Dont blame me later.

Rather be remembered for taking a stupid risk on the F1 track than dying from smoking, drugs or alcohol.

Even those that wrap them selves up in bubble wrap can suffocate.

Fucking live life.
