For all those born in 70's & 80's !

56K Modem was a lightning fast modem. I grew up on a 9600 Baud Modem for the longest time, then the revolution of the 14.4K Modem came along. That was followed by the 28.8 which was then followed by the 56K. Good old times when a picture took 30 seconds to load, let alone a Video :P

I remember using a VIC 20 which had those stupid tape drives. You had to wait forty-five minutes for the stupid game to load.

Just like me. A walkman and still have my video game set as well, a local one, but similar to Nintendo.

Dude... You made me remember that I have the Nintendo (NES, not Super Nintendo) cardboard box that the console came in in mint condition, not a scratch, not a single mark on it. I have it on my parent's house tho, I'll try to take a picture if I go to see them this weekend.

PS: Yeah, the console is in there too.

I was using internet just on night when was 12yo, becose it was from one company i i had chance to use them modem pool just on night after they finish job. I had nice 56kb/s modem ZYXEL)))

I'm young, and I can fully agree, people are miserable now, I was born in 1996 and I had more fun on my Playstation 1 then gaming now (xbox, ps3, pc etc), old life was a lot better, I would LOVE to go to the 70s or 80s, people are more happy. People are getting more and more evil everyday, more and more in homes.

Every generation gets worse, and here's why. Its a mixture of parenting, politics, and society in general. I remember when I would do something wrong back in the 80's and my dad would whoop my ass with the belt, then he would tell a story about if it was him, my grand dad would've made him go and pick a branch off the tree with thorns on it and he would use that. He hated that, so he went easier on me. In the same aspect, we go easier on our kids than our parents went on us because we didn't like it. Then you have laws now that dont allow you to spank your kids, and if you do they say its abuse, but then they blame you when your kid does wrong. And last but definately not least, you have peer pressure, so even if you are one of the few parents that raises your kids right, they are being led into new activities by their friends and peers. So its a lose lose. All you can do is hope that your kids turn out twice as good as you did. I have 8 kids, and I like to think that I raise them well, but nothing will compare to the good ol 80's and how we were brought up :D

8 kids? holy fuck. Anyway, every generation is saying the same. It is like it is.

I remember being in AOL chatrooms in the 90's and when a girl sent you a pic it took like a MINUTE to load, so you'd see the face start loading then it would keep going and as a teenager I was always thinking, "omgomgomg she's going to be topless when this loads (in 5 freaking minutes)" AAHHHHHH damn! Bathing suit! LMAO. NEXT... "Hey girl whats your A/S/L" HAHAHA.

Back in the day... so funny.

8 kids? You guys figure out what causes that yet? LOL

I GRADUATED in 1985!!!!!!!

It was a GREAT TIME to be a kid. We all thought the Russians were gonna drop the nukes anyday so it was "Live life to the fullest attitude!" Had a blast in those days. Remember walking to the arcade with $3 in quarters. We'd spend half the day there!

Tons and Tons of good memories from the 80's. Can't go back though...Gotta keep on trucking...Someday my kids will be telling theirs how great it was in the early 2000's...LOL

Lol, I second almost all of that. I also remember, my dad was a vietnam vet, so he would take me to the vfw hall with him, and if I got thirsty he would give me a drink of his beer (1984 I was 5 lol) All the ladies in the bar would dance with me, then when we left, I would sit on my dads lap and steer for him lol. No seat belt laws. (not that seat belt laws are a bad thing, but it definately was fun) :D

Born in 89 and Loved the 90's :D Great time, those days kids actually existed outside LOL now a days you would be lucky to get them to go out, plus I miss all the Mom and Pop shops, now it is all Target Wallmart etc :) walking in the cities was the best time for me.
Oh 90's I will never forget thee ;(

8 kids? You guys figure out what causes that yet? LOL

Lol, we figured out the cure, but I lost my prescription and ended up with 7 more lol. One thing for sure, its definately not in the water... I think its all about tv. Because we will fight, I break the tv. then 9 months later we have a little one lol :D

There are two public football pitches in front of my window. When I was kid, I needed to wake up 7am and go to the pitch without breakfast, so we have a chance to get a place where to play. From 8am to 8pm the pitches were full. Full of friends that were playing football or tennis together (2 courts on a side - again, public)

Then today, the pitches are still there. However, I look 100 times out of a window - not a single child is there, ever! Only person to go there time to time are me and my friends, 25-30 years old guys playing on the pitch for kids.

And that's the difference between 80's generation and the latest one. So sad...

hahahahaha, oh that brought me back the "hey a/s/l/pic"!! I use to love chat rooms. And 99% of the time when you asked that the girl would say "no pic, dont have a scanner". This was back when only a handful of people had a scanner and the cheapest digital camera was like $1000 bucks.

I remember days whey I used to access broadband on 56Kb modem and I used to wait for the site to load while watching the ole' IE's rounding globe. haha good ole days.

I remember when I upgraded from a 36.6 to a 56k, I thought I was the baddest mafacker on the block.

Damn I feel old and Im only 28:(
