For a starting website are low quality backlinks better than nothing?

If your website has very low authority (0,3 on Ahrefs), and only about 20 reffering domains because it's only a few month old, is it a good idea to get even some low quality backlinks to rank for some low difficulty keywords? My website's authority is so weak that it couldn't rank even for zero volume keywords. Are low quality backlinks going to improve this, or it will make it even worse?

You can go with the quality backlink instead of low quality backlinks i don't think so its a good strategy because it might not provide significant value to your site.

Don't get backlinks from sites that aren't very good because it can hurt your SEO. So, you should focus on creating high quality content and earning natural backlinks from authoritative and relevant sources.

How about the 5 - 10 $ backlinks that people sold here on marketplace? Are these good or considered low quality? I'm not talking about the hundreds of backlinks that are generated with GSA SER, but about backlinks like, these made on forums, guest posts, PBNs.

Mostly cheap links are spam as far as my experience. It will increase your spam score.

avoid low quality links they will add very little traction to your site

low quality links are worse than having no back links
"guest link from those public free list" tends to usually be 99 outta 100 times also worse than having no back links

You would be much better off building web2 or building strong social media pages

Low-quality backlink are not good for website in long term. Google value quality over quantity.

Low-quality backlinks won't hurt you if not excessive. But they don't help either.

Try to post some linkable content, like compiled statistics, or make some infographics with Canva.

You should never go after "low-quality" links for your money site, they will get you doomed sooner or later,
That include anything like the super cheap PBNs sold here or anywhere else or the automated created comments, web 2.0s, etc...
Instead, you can simply go after "high-quality" & "low-authority" links,

Crowd (Forum) links are one of the most underrated links for people who's struggling with a budget,
Or simply want a few links to gain some initial trust & authority,

You can literally create up to 50-100 links from niche relevant forums if you know what you're doing,
Half of them probably will be deleted, but you'll still end up with pretty handful number of them,
And most will be nofollow as well, but they're good enough for that extra little boost,

Just make sure to write around 70-200 words for each of them with decent content that match the forum/thread/post context,
You have to be creative about this if you want a better % of links sticking and not getting deleted,

Blog comments is also another option,
probably not as good and easy, but you still can make a quick kick if you can get your hands on low obl do follow link,
I wouldn't even bother with profile links unless they allow you to place longer format of texts and pics,

There are plenty of other platforms/examples which you can get some useful initial links with,
Just make sure to get clean ones with some decent relevant content,
Don't bother about Ahrefs or Moz metrics as well, they have no use in such cases

Focus on content quality, add value to it. First and foremost it should help someone's need.
Then go for solid backlinks, weekend ones won't help even hurt somehow.

Why Go for Low quality backlinks when you can easily manually build good quality backlinks through web 2.0 or profiles related to your niche.
Just focus on posting good content and creating backlinks in sites related to your niche.
