I have re designed a PR 5 site .. and in the footer i have given a designed by and a link to my site ..

this footer link is present in all the posts and pages ..

1) is it good to get the link juice from the home page alone or is it okay to get links in all posts and pages through footer link .. ?

2) how does google see this linking ??

3) is there any better way to get links in footer ..

Pls help me friends ..

These links will become less and less valuable, I believe Google has already started to devalue footer links. But yes Google will index your footer links, though I personally would go really aggressive with such footer linking. Whether this footer link will help or hinder your site depends on your backlink profile and what anchor text you used.

They have been devalued but I wouldn't worry too much about it being bad since a lot of designers do it. If it's your business name I wouldn't worry. If it's a keyword anchor...well I think that's up for debate.

Some people swear by sitewide links but since sidebar and footer links have been abused they got devalued. To be safe I would just use your brand name for it.

If you want a nice PR5 link then try to work it into the content on the homepage if you own the site.
