Does footer credit links makes any harm in SEO?
NOTE: the anchor of the link are not my keyword and not related terms.

    Yes
    it definitely harms.
But it has two sides of the same.

Just treat it as a sitewide link. It is very beneficial if it is not removed in a few days or months. Because a footer link is there on all paged indexed with a search engine. And a cherry on the cake if that link is ********.

    But

It the link is a nofollow link and the website does not have good authority and ranking metrics, it gonna harm your website's performance on search engines.
but you don't have to worry about it. Because you can see this in the Moz spam checker and Disavow it on domain level.

That's all you can do with a sitewide link.

that would be linking to the theme author site?
If yes, then it depends on if they have blocked the removal of credit links using a script or not. If yes, then you will not be able to remove that link.
Try some tutorials like "How to remove credit link from a blogger template". You can find many by searching this on google.
