Thats a bit tricky tho.
In my case I follow 500-600 per day but I unfollow also in the same day many people.
So lets say my followers are 1k and my following are 450-500.
Op can check users who have followings below 3k so its unlikely they are bot users

It doesn't matter if they're bot users.. if the user's posts get constant engagement and comments from people, and you can see he's doing follow-unfollow (I'm talking about more than 450-500.. more like 2k-4k followings and good amount of followers.) then it's good enough to scrape the users who engaged with his recent post.

that. Scrape comments first! They are less likely to be bots users

Gotta take into account that most pages are using engagement groups, so it'll be a little harder to do.

I agree with that. Its gonna be harder. But it worth the time of 1-2 hours per day just scraping these users,and then normal scraping.

Or let a bot scrape users and follow them with specific filters, while doing something else productive.

Do you guys do more than just follow followers of large accounts? I also do following of users who liked posts of large accounts, but because the company and personal accounts that I handle, I don't usually get 100+ followers a day. More like 30-70/day.

My account is one month old and I follow 400-500 people each time, and do this 5-6 times through out the day
I haven't except any kinda bans yet may be because I'm just using two accounts on my home ip

That's why! Follow their followers if you want more followers but it's possible to not be so active, or people with nice accounts(number of people that follow them is bigger than number of people that they follow ). But if you follow people who liked post of some big accounts you will get less followers but there are more chances that they will like more photos from your account, and be more interesting in your niche.
