Focus on content or link building?

@Testogainz ,
As most have commented focus on both.

Create great content and ensure you have excellent on page seo. You'll probably see initial rankings from the content alone for longer LSIs.
Let your site settle down before thinking about any backlinks.

Content is obviously very if not most important thing, thats what google wants. But it all depend on your niche and type of site too.. Maybe you just want to rank few page site and then you focus on backlinks but this wont last for long-term i think. Ranking is much harder now.. nobody can tell you this work 100%. So good content first, and even once u cover all keywords in your niche, continue writing some relevant news if there are any..

I notice recently that i am able to rank on first page sometimes in featured results too within a 2 weeks of publishing a post and not 1 single link built and organic traffic on my website is only growing and going up every week/month which is my ultimate goal. Focus on low competition keywords. If you not have money to invest in serious content marketing, and you are not able to get or buy only the best links such as guest posts on real and authority sites, then dont even bother and better invest all money in content. If you are starting a new site my advice is to get some expired domain with good link profile if it match your niche @Nargil have many if you want to check it out. Its easyer than starting with new domain with 0 links..

Both are important (on-page and off-page). I usually do on-page first (optimise site speed, code, ssl, content) and then start with off-page (link building, socials). If you ask which one is more effective, then in my experience, sites with less on-page and more off-page outrank projects with more on-page and less off-page. Hope this makes sense!

You can't stop creating new contents on your website. Contents and back links are the most important things in SEO now. So do them at the same time and never stop.

Do both, start with content, as soon as you start ranking for keywords, build links.

Spend 10% of your time on creating extremely high quality content and the remaining 90% on promoting that content to gain links.

Sup guys,

should i rather focus on creating content or rather link building?
How do I know when to stop creating content and to concentrate on building links.
It's not about this or that. You have to focus on both. In my case, I focus 20% of my time on content and 80% of my time on link building. What's the use if I write and publish content with no one to read and take the desired action.

1st Mainly Focus on Unique Content, Check your content in copyscape You observe how many duplicate content in your web- site.
Our 2nd step you focus on link building its help for improve our keywords ranking and landing pages in Google, Both are important for our website.
So 1st focus on content then work in link-building.

I'll personally focus on getting years worth content first, focus on links next.

Its a total blend. 40% content or 60% links building else a vice-versa.
Good quality content needs fewer links to get rank and low-quality content need higher links to rank.

No matter what you do, Never ever forget that your content would get you to places. If its a high competition niche, you are bound to produce a better content than his if you wish to beat him.
If its a rare niche, its good for you today but for how long its 'rare' you don't know!
But if you keep your strategies bulletproof both in theory and practice, you'll have a comfortable ride.
Anyway, whatever you do, Best wishes!

Both hasan7707 and kawsarbd are correct in my opinion.

Use/create content that doesn't need links to interest users, make this the baseline for your website. Add some neat on-page SEO, avoid over-optimizing and stuffing keywords everywhere and you should be good.

As for links, study your niche, find where your main competitors are, analyze patterns and replicate them with your own little touch.

Both are important , but in my opinion if you want to focus to only one choose link building

I would take link building and outeach over creating too much content. That being said at least have a few good articles to support your site before proceeding with building links.

guys i try real hard to find traffics in my website buy i dont know what"s wrong you can check here and advice me plz my website : askdokta.com

Content and link building both are important for our website, But content is more important than link building If we are used duplicate content in website their is wastage for creating new link building, So put unique Content then its help to cached in search engine and improve in ranking.

I think you have to focus on content first because when your on page is good then your website automatically ranks good on bing and yahoo, but if you want to rank on google then you have to first focus on content to prevent panda penalty then you have to focus on link building.

Yes definitely, When it comes to SEO link building or page content is a most important part. These both are equally important. I mean that 'Content is king'always but if the quality content gets the relevant backlinks then the website ranking at SERP will automatically boost up.

Content should be your priority from the very start and later on. Backlinks are important too, but do not build too many of them at once and avoid spammy links from irrelevant web pages.
