Ok the title is a bit misleading but still close to reality lately I have been checking out the domains on flippa that are being sold and I came across this:

https://flippa.com/10280546-droneuserguide-com

This guy is selling the domain for 5 grand and the site has ZERO DA!!! Everything is ZERO about that domain, only thing that could be of value is the domain is 4 years old...

Is this some sort of scam? Can someone tell me how can such sites sell for these sums when they have zero states???

It just goes against everything we know!

Thanks

People buy name for such high ticket.it doesn't have to do with SEO.

Your title is misleading. This is no scam.

Your title is misleading as you say about those that sells domains on flippa. They ask the price for their DOMAIN NAME not for website / business.

Yes my mistake it is a domain.

But I still fail to see the reason for buying domains for a few 1ks when there is not even as SEO benefit..

The only positive is the domain's age.

Anyone has any idea what is going on

It's a scam because the seller presents it like a good deal when it's not.

That domain is only worth the price of registration.

For you, but for someone else that could be the brand name, they've been dreaming about for years.

I've seen domains that has nothing special (2 or even 3 words) sold for 4 to 5 figures.

Not everyone is using domains for SEO purposes.

I'm not sure if that's because I'm not logged on, but it doesn't seem that the seller is claiming anything?

Either way, one can ask whatever they feel like, regardless of whether it's realistic or not.

I can list my old socks on eBay for $500. The market would react by not placing any bids (which, I'm guessing, is also going to happen with this domain) and this would make me fairly ignorant, but certainly not a scammer in any way, shape or form.

bro its a good domain name for people who wants to start a niche blog related to drones. So there will be people who will pay 1000 dollars for the name. Its nothing to do with scam

Overpriced? maybe.
Scam? To most yes.

I wouldn't buy it.

The worst scam on Flippa? Nope. So many other worse things going on with Flippa that that.

Looks like this is the asking price. One can ask as much price as they want. However, if you see the history of seller, you would see that he has "28 transactions totalling $183,400".

You are yelling scammer yet he didn't scam you? Guy is just doing his thing, trying to sell something for good money and he is already a scammer? Good shit.

Putting a domain or site on sale for any random price is not equal to scam. If you dont like it, move one.

You m ay see no value in it but if the buyer desperately needs that name for a project then it is likely worth a lot more to him than you. You should really think about what you post before posting such accusations as they will end up making you look bad and no one else.

The buyer is the one who will decide if it is a good deal or not. To you it may only be worth that but to someone else it could be a lucrative investment.

If you like it, buy it, if not, then don't.

Seller is the owner (I guess) and that is his asking price.

Another story is, if that domain is worth that kind of money...
