    Hello guys,

I want to sell my website on flippa but i have read so many bad reviews about they and i'm scared.

    Questions:

It is flippa save for sellers ? I want to use flippa escrow. Any experience with flippa ? ( As a seller )

Should i try to sell my webiste on flippa or search for alternative ways to sell it ?

I recently sold 3 niche site on Flippa for a total of 21k USD. I used their escrow service and the transaction went very well. as Markos said, the only bad thing about Flippa is their fees.

Pro tip: Don't accept bids from new accounts unless you verify their identity yourself. What I did was to ask them their Facebook and then sent them a private messages, checked if the profile looked legit (Photos, comments, likes etc..)

Haven't used flippa for couple of years, I was very active before, but make sure to do your own due dilligence about buyers and escrow is your friend. If I do recall that most of paypal transactions were not disputable once when domain name transfer is completed, so make sure to keep in a safe place proof once when you push domain name over to buyer.

I have used flippa escrow before and as long as the buyer gets the domain rights etc. it seems to be fine. But like others said, HUGE fee, they take so much...

Yeah their fees are ridiculous. But it's generally safer than it was years ago. Now you have 2 escrow choices, the original escrow.com and flippa escrow.

I would only accept PP for small transactions from well known members.

How did you determine the value of those 3 sites?

I've sold a couple of domains authority websites on Flippa before. Those weren't huge sales, but I got over $2,000 for one of the sites. I would say selling on Flippa is fairly safe if you know what you are doing and if you follow security recommendation that given to you during the transaction.

I had one kinda funny but at the same time pretty frustrating experience with Flippa though.

One dude was selling a good affiliate site that was clearly priced way below its value, but its potential wasn't very obvious at first because of the crappy listing description. I've done a lot of research on the site and placed a low but acceptable bid (there was no reserve price). I ended up winning the auction and was pretty happy about it. However, the seller went MIA for a few days. When he came back, he sent me a message stating that he created a listing when he has "severely intoxicated" and he was not responsible for his actions, so he had no intention to transfer the site to me. Surprisingly, Flippa took his side and they cancelled result of the auction which means I never got the site though I don't think it was a fair decision.

I sold one for 11x the monthly revenue, one for 21x the monthly revenue and one for 28x the monthly revenue. It doesn't matter what you want for the site.. what matters is what the buyers are willing to pay

If your website has good revenue, you may want to consider selling at https://empireflippers.com/marketplace/ as well. They are professionals in buying and selling websites.

Be aware your other options are FE Int, Empire Flippers, and forums. However, Flippa is generally pretty safe for sellers especially when using escrow and manually accepting bidders. Most of the negative publicity comes from the new buyer's side.

I used Flippa for a sale last year. Got a reasonable multiple considering the site and factors such as age, earning history, etc. High fees, yes, but if you have a good property then it's likely you'll sell it quicker. If you're looking for a quicker sale and it's at a lower price point, I think Flippa is a decent choice. The more authoritative your site is, the more likely you should be looking into the other options as mentioned above. Latona's is another big broker I've seen around for some time now. Keep in mind, broker fees aren't exactly cheap either. I use escrow.com for my transactions at Flippa because I prefer the third party established alternative as opposed to Flippa's in house escrow service which I've heard mixed things about. When using Flippa, it's up to you to do the due diligence and vetting, as mentioned above as well. I'm wary of Flippa's deal flow service. When I was approached by them and I asked them questions before giving them access to my site/data, the Flippa representative never got back to me. I would not recommend giving them access without first finding out what benefits they can truly offer you. This is my experience, yours will vary. I continued on with my sale successfully in the first listing without the additional 'help'.

    Good luck with your sale.
