Flippa Escrow Scam - Lost 2K and a website.

I've never had a problem with escrow but as of now I'm never using them again. Apparently there is some scam that's been around but this is the first time I've ran into it. :(

We go into escrow and I transfer the site - the guy has 3 days or whatever to verify everything blah blah. He changes the domain whois info etc. to himself, then tells escrow that he never got the site or some shit - I don't even know what the guy said. Anyway long story short escrow renegs the deal and I'm out on the $2,000 the site sold for and I'm out on the domain name - and the guy has all the website content so the bastard got the site I built up for free. I mean it was just another quick flip site that I built revenue on ($525 adsense first month) that usually attracts legit buyers who want some low-maintenance / pretty much auto-pilot income, but this has definately dealt a blow to my morale.

Just thought I'd vent, talked to Flippa and there is pretty much nothing I can do except get the guys account banned. The sad part is the guy had like 15 feedback. Fucking pathetic.

At the experienced-people.net forums they have long been warning about the risks with escrow.com in threads like this one. Here's another story of someone who lost money through using escrow.com (and how it happened). As "james" says there:

Flippers seem to all promote and use this escrow service without realizing the risks. Sorry you lost money on this, but you've done the right thing in warning others about such scammers.
 
yeah thats a reason why i dont accept escrow.com .If someone wants to use an escrow service i only accept http://www.sedo.com as they are really professional and secure for both sites
 
Well, all is not lost yet. If you have the heart, you can still teach the guy a lesson never to cheat others in the way he has done. If in your position, I would:

1. buy a new domain name similar to that of the site

2. copy and paste all content to your own new site and run different layers of backlinks to the site so that the pages of your new site would rank

3. clickbomb all the adsense ads on the site sold to the guy. Do that for about 7 consecutive days. I am sure the adsense account would be banned before the 7th day

The only thing you would lose here is the domain name of the site sold.
 
If you post the name here I and I'm sure a few other bhwers would be willing to clickbomb the FUCK out of that site.

Only do that if you know you can't get it back though.
 
WTF, I thought escrow is safe to use. What can we trust now?

Don't give up.

Write a letter (not email) to escrow and explain what happened and threaten legal action if they don't look into it. Also write the legal authorities in the area of the scammer describing the fraud and threaten criminal complaint. If this is in the US, it's wire fraud.

This is a difficult one. I think I would send appropriate official style letters to escrow and Flippa regarding the bad publicity they are both getting on IM forums.
While at the same time start a clickbomb campaign as suggested.
There does come a point where you have to walk away, it grates but it's better stress wise.
 
Thats messed up man, defineately get him back, the asshole will be thinking he got away with it...seriously clickbomb him (i can help), you could even go furthur and post his phone no. nd address on porn chat site with a sexy chick pic..make him know he chose the wrong dude to fuck with.

Any way so is this the paypal only the right way to trading in flippa.Since you take money in advance and then transfer the site?I am just new in the site flipping business.
 
So what is best method , if we can not trust Escrow , how we should make this right ?
 
Paypal is still good. I have never had any issues with Paypal. The buyer would never had won if it had been paypal because it would be considered a digital product.
 
^^^Clickbomber on standby lol I hope you get something back out of the deal, its never fun loosing money or time spent =( and in the end I hope this guy gets what he deserves!
