[Fix] How to make SEO Suite Rank Tracker & Spyglass work with the latest Google changes

Here is how you can fix the current problem that the cracked versions of Link Assist SEO Suite Rank Tracker and Spyglass don't show Google results (after the Google change on Jan 26 2012):

Basically, both programs will update themselves to the latest Google updates and start working fine again, when you start them as 'free' version and then revert them back to the cracked version.

Here is how to do this for both programs, if you are using a fake name and registration key, and have link-assist.com blocked in your hosts file:

1. Make sure you know the fake name and registration keys as you will need them again later. They are in the Help/Registration info menu.

2. Close the program, and delete the files .ranktracker.properties and .spyglass.properties. They are inside your 'C:/Users/YourUsername' folder in Windows 7.

3. Unblock the link-assist websites from your hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc): Open your hosts file with notepad and add # so the software can reach their server:

4. Now start the program, it will default back to the free version, and update itself.

5. After that, close the program, block link-assist.com again in your host file (remove the #), lastly open the program again and type in the fake name and registration key again.

Now it should work again

It didn't work but I found what you may have missed. After update you have to restore .properties file and it is working again.

My old registration info does no longer work after that.
also tried restoring the .properties files, didn't change.

It didn't work from first. I had to restore my old .properties files from recycle bin. So, update your first post with this info because i'm sure there are other people in my situation.

update: It seems that rank tracker can't check rankings.

Hey guys just wanted to help anyone that is trying this method and wondering if it works... It DOES!

I just tried it to my 5.6.2 version which wasnt getting KEI nor KW suggestions.

Use the instructions, except substitute deleting the .prop file and instead, save these files (4 files if doing all of the programs), and at the last step instead of opening the software and inputting the user an serial, do not open the software, paste the original .prop files into the same location where they started.

Then open the software and you should be good to go, no need to even place the user and serial in the fields as it picks it up from the .prop file.

Mine now works 100%.

Unfortunately this does not work for me using RankTracker.

Can anybody using 5.8.3 confirm that they have Google working when using RankTracker?

Edit: It seems that when running the FREE version, I can update on Google no worries. Its just when I replace the .properties files it stops working.. Strange.

Is anybody able to upload their properties files so I can test this?

I now have it working. Download Version 5.8 that was uploaded by silvermario from the downloads thread.

This is how you get it working.

Uninstall your current RankTracker installation. Delete all the .properties files and the .ranktracker (and similar folders) folders under C:\Users\(Username) (For Windows 7) after you have uninstalled the program.

Make sure your hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc)has been edited to block the program from reaching their servers.

Install Version 5.8 and run Ranktracker. Check your licence information has transferred over. CLICK THE 'X' IN THE CORNER OF THE SCREEN AND NOT 'OK' TO CLOSE THE REGISTRATION WINDOW.

Make a new project. Google will now complete successfully. Do not upgrade to version 5.8.3.
