Fiverr just bought me a $40 dinner!

Much rather would've had a 40-acre ranch but I only received one order through Fiverr last month.

Received my puny payout today but hey, I'll be going to enjoy a steak at the Outback tonight that will be covered by my single-order month. :)

By the way, I don't promote or advertise my Gig "at all". I don't care about Fiverr and have only one service there at a premium price.

If I get orders there, great, if not, it doesn't matter.

If I'm able to have one or two nice dinners per month from Fiverr earnings I'm happy so I'm fine with the 1-2 monthly orders that my account typically averages. ;)

I never had any success with Fiverr. The competition isn't favourable to newbies at all except you want to cheat on the system by buying reviews. And these days, most review sellers are scammers.

It's hard to compete on Fiverr. Most shoppers are seeking value- rather than quality-based Gigs which makes it difficult for some providers to compete.

This is why I don't bother with Fiverr or try to push sales there, simply isn't worth my time.

Back in the day I use to make a killing on Fiverr though. I had a viral service that received at least 5 orders per day and was making me over $3,000 profit per month.

Those days are over though.

You may be better off doing what @William702 did and become an affiliate.

Bought four reviews here on BHW where I knew I could trust people. Started my Fiverr business and in the first month I have made about $120.
 
2-3 Gigs on fiverr, about 100+ impressions not a single conversion yet.

I never did well at Fiverr, maybe it's because I don't have quality jobs because I'm a newbie or because I just had bad luck. The difference is that I never used any promotional technique to increase the amount of views of my Gigs. Maybe I would try but I still don't know how to attract public :(

Are you on upwork? I have a friend that experimented with increasing his rates, and found even at $50/hr people were still inviting him to Jobs and hiring.

As a Fiverr user, I definitely only check it out for cheap Gigs I need to get done asap. I see they're trying to change that narrative and offer more premium gigs, but for serious projects that need professional work, I'd rather go to Upwork and pay extra for quality.

Yes, I quite agree with you! Fiverr is filled with low-quality sellers. And the buyers treat everyone as one.

To attract higher rate, a seller must have attained Level 2 badge. That doesn't come so cheaply. It takes a lot of low paying gigs.

My Kenyan friends on Upwork make more money in a week than what we on Fiverr make in a month or two. I've tried Upwork too. The selection process isn't easy. My application keeps getting rejected.
 
This is weird I’m offering some real good stuff on Fiverr but had only one sale yet. Yes the prices might be a bit higher than my competitives but I am offering a service where no vps or servers are required like others. I am still wondering why people were so greedy, I’ve Developer this thing for over 4 month and just ask for a small amount of $. Anyway I do not care for sales and think same as OP, if there is a sale, find I can go and burn some money, if not well I will do fine aswell.
 
Congrats. I made $100 on Fiverr without any promotion so far. I haven't spent any of it. I'm quite happy with it even though it wasn't much.
Update and tell us how the stake was
 
People on fiverr want nice things for pennies, upwork is no different.

Don't give up on it. Work for less than what you'd like initially, bid on cheap/small gigs (they usually have smaller budget and looking for a good deal), get good reviews, and slowly increase your rates. You'll get more hires/invites with reviews and completed work - as well as referrals for jobs outside of upwork.

I started the same time as my friend and gave up after 2 weeks of rejection. He stuck with it and it took a few months to start getting good feedback and more hires on a regular basis. Right now he's at a point where he rejects majority of the work and just uses it for side income.

Upwork is 100% different. There's more quality professionals, and more quality clients looking to pay for their worth.

Don't eat too much if you get Premium plan order. Instead, send it to me for giving you this tip and saving you throwing up or even worse taking a day off in the toilet.

I used to get tons of work from Fiverr.. then they changed their platform's algo :( :( :(

Only 10% of the total income figure below is from AFTER Fiverr changed their system
