Is it tough to live far away from society? How far is the nearest city to you? How often do you go grocery?
Was thinking about going to rural locations for a long time though.

I'm not out there at the moment. It's too hot right now and with the recent fires in nearby Flagstaff the air quality is not great and my wife suffers from asthma. We dont have sufficient solar set up to power a good enough air conditioning unit. We don't mind it so much but It's too hot for our dog. If anything we bought the land because of her and our want to be away from things. It's nice to have a place we can escape to and as soon as our infrastructure is fully set up we can be there without interruption, It is still a learning process for us at the moment. If we have to go into town its an hour each way and 3 hours round trip into Flagstaff, but we go the scenic route which is beautiful all year round. Due to wanting to relocate to the UK though we might end up selling it.

With the way the immigration system works these days we might not be able to travel back as freely as we had hoped and we desperately would like to get started with our main endeavor of a new beauty brand. So having a nice chunk of change to be able to put into manufacturing and influencer marketing would get it off to a flying start. If we are able to stay on track with the beauty stuff we will be able to cash out in two to three years and buy any piece of land we want. With the lessons learned from this piece I'm sure we could find something that ticks more boxes for us. Trying to do this on a budget was not a good idea and then when some of the etsy income fizzled out that was a real slap in the face for our timelines.
Keeping it might be more hassle than it is worth. but we are going to do our best.

Congrats, man. I remember when I first stumbled upon BHW, and was thinking: 'Are these guys just making stuff up or is it actually possible to make money online?' Within a few months (and a LOT of time reading on BHW), I learned that it is totally possible. Glad you shared this...hopefully others are motivated to see that they can do it as well.

It has been a few months in the making and quite a few more months than planned but the time is finally here to do some major improvements to the land I purchased thanks to Fiverr. I just sent the last documents to my immigration attorney to finalize my application for citizenship so I will be a fully fledged yank before long hopefully. The application process could take around 8 - 10 months but it will all finally be filed and done with. With all of this "real life" stuff taken care of I can now revert back to a child and build some forts out in the forest.
I plan on building a small 16x8 cabin while I am there this week to turn into a small cabin for AirBnb rentals. I also purchased a tee-pee tent and two yurt tents and plan to build bases for those. They will be the main things we rent out while we stay there and it's something we can set up right away.
We plan to avoid all the drama of Christmas and the ass-whole family members it inevitably brings out of the woodwork by staying out there and having our first Christmas out there off grid huddled by a wood stove. It will be -10c come Sunday so I need to have a basic structure with walls and a roof finished by then. I plan to have a stone floor made from some of the flagstone we have on the property with underfloor heating provided by a rocket stove mass heater. I must have watched hundreds of hours of YouTube videos and now it's time to put some of that knowledge to the test so wish me luck!
We are leaving in about an hour to drive out to AZ. As always if you need to get a hold of me just drop me a PM on here but I will probably cut myself off for a few days so I can concentrate on getting some of this stuff built with no distractions
