Fiverr is slowly dying?

I better add something of value to this thread. After that last post.

So I put up my first fiverr gig last week. I got a sale in less than 5 hours or so. Nothing more yet. I think it has potential. Fiverr get 42k visitors a day last time I checked, so my advice is to leverage this. That's what I'm doing. Search the forum and you can find all kinds of ideas. I am going to put up 3-6 more gigs and see what happens. Spend no more than another hour on it.

The one thing that could change Fiverr for good and increase its value would be Paid Featured Gigs.

Lets say $20 for your category and $100 for main page for 1 week. And lets make like 5 free slots for category featured and 20 slots for main page.

That would make them like 3-4 thousands a week (enough to cover servers and maintenance costs) and would clarify one thing - featured ones are the ones that want to make money. There will be no dead gigs in the top.

And they would still have last word about gigs under featured ones on main page.
That would spread rest of gigs around free members.

Fiverr employees spying on this thread - your welcome. Waiting for offer to become your CEO :wiggle:

Saturation leads to slow death which fiverr is facing these days!! Becoming good for buyers and bad for sellers!!

Frankly, its the only place I am making any serious money right now.

I think it really depends on the provider - if they are responsible to fulfill their gigs and answer promptly. As the community in Fiverr gets larger, there will be people who are irresponsible or produce lousy quality work. But I'm sure there are really good workers there as well.

try zeerk....there are a lot of updates happening everyday. One of the member owns it and it really is rising like crazy in alexa. I have seen it go from 120XXX to 92XXX alexa rank in days

Yeah Zeerk... I just check their website. I clicked "How does it work?" button and find out that there is hidden Facebook Like It link over there...
Thats a bad start

Ok, I dont see it anymore - this could be some problem with website... Zeerk admin need to check this ASAP.

Yeah, I'm pretty new to the whole IM scene and so far Fiverr is the only thing I've really made any money from considering it is filled with buyers. I have to admit though, I had to make a pretty bold claim/titile with hype to get any sales. Currently averaging 1 a day.

There are good things you can find in Fiverr.
And it's a good marketplace. I don't know why there is so much hatred here.
Feels like people want to see them go down.

It is not dying, probably just too many people spending TOO much time there.

There were and ARE some god damn good services I got there for $5. Way cheaper than like in IM forums.
Discard the "I'll write your name on my tits, pull them close together and you can use it on chatroulette" gigs, and you will find some nice things there.

Bross - you need to see things above and beyond.

Nobody really expected MySpace to die so fast - same story here.

They need to change if they want to stay afloat.

Thinking like : As long as we have visitors is ok - is wrong thinking. You need to do much more and change all the time - like Facebook...

My fiverr account exploded the other day. I run 3 account with 5 to 10 gigs on each account. I logged into one of the accounts of found it had 30 orders in 1 day! And I am getting 5 to 10 new orders every day on it. Its all about luck it seems.

That's entirely true. Yet, I don't think such websites are built to last for years. It is not a news portal or an auction marketplace like Ebay. It is a nice concept for a semi-quick exit while making a few millions along the way. I am quite sure they are on the next project by now.

These guys behind it are savvy and very bright. I am sure they know what they are doing and for how long.

It is morons that start the same theme and buy domains named "Tenner" and "fifteener" that will be out of business shortly, not them.
Only one get's to see the view; the rest just see his ass.

Can be good value....

A few months ago I got 'niche' dating site built, and promoted, for $15.00 !

$5.00 for PHP coding and SQL...
$5.00 for 5 page web design...
$5.00 for Promotion (100,000 tweets..)

Got my money back on launch day....and still earning nicely as I type.........

Well we will see. Better for them if they will be quick.

And let some quality content flow in.

I would do some promotion in poor countries as people they can do loadz of jobs for 5 bucks...

it's the only way now, if you don't have featured gigs (like it has been already said here a few times before): driving traffic to your gigs outside from fiverr and not just hoping somebody will find it, if he/she uses fiverr's search, because it's not really working now and even so will not work as we go forward in time

So we need to know legit seller on fiverr.... can you guys post their username here?

please don't post your own username. i mean, give me few legit sellers on fiverr.

You don't need to know any sellers name, simply have a look on feedbacks and orders in que. This will answer everything.
