I registered on Fiverr and when I looked at the different categories, I saw one that caught my eye: the Crowdfunding category. In a nutshell, these are freelancers who offer help with various fund proposals.

Have any of you already tried it out? I mean this kind of service of crowdfunding promotion.

(Message to moderators: this is not a freelance request, nor a partnership, nor an investment. I just want feedback)

Could be interesting if you haven't done it before.

If someone has done a successful crowdfund before they would certainly be helpful for your own.

How to get it approved and online, where to promote it so you get backers, what works best on different platforms etc.

You've got me curious now, I'm going to go take a look and see exactly what these sellers actually offer.

In fact, it will be eight years in October (Lord! Time flies) that I've been running a platform, financed entirely by crowdfunding (direct payment by credit card or PayPal). I don't use dedicated platforms.

Except that I'm getting tired of “chasing donors” again and again.

I signed up on Fiverr to see if I could find a provider for something else, and I came across this category. That's the story, and since I know a lot of people use Fiverr here, I thought I'd find some feedback.

I looked at a couple of these providers and it appears as though they basically promote your crowdfund to people who would potentially back it.
So basically they're selling advertising.
If their methods or userbase are targetted and actually helps get funding then probably is worth it. $10 or $100 in exchange for a few thousand in crowdfunding.
I guess it's like everything, you need to do your own due diligence and test if any of them work.

Yes, that's what I gather from reading the descriptions, profiles, services on offer, and so on. They all say there are no guarantees. But I'm so exhausted that I figure it might be worth a try. The rates aren't exorbitant.

If the moderators agree, I'll let them know. ( Ping @BassTrackerBoats )

If the moderators agree to what?
This thread it looks like you wanted opinions of the services offered, are you thinking to sell those same services now or something? If so then you need to go and start a BST thread.
I don't quite understand what the moderators have to do with anything that's been posted in this thread so far?

If the moderators agree, I'd like to give feedback on the crowdfunding promotion services offered on Fiverr.

No, I'm not going to open a sale or offer my services, but I've had a discussion on the subject with the moderators and I don't want to be reprimanded or banned from the forum for not respecting the rules. I had opened a ticket on this subject (they know :) )

Ahhh, I don't see any problem discussing it, as long as you don't specifically discuss a particular seller as this could be looked as promoting their services etc.
But fair enough for checking. I've received an infraction when I first joined BHW for something, I can't remember what it was, but I felt it was unjustified and it was an accident basically, I think I posted something in a wrong section or something simple like that.
I'd hate to be banned for something so simple, so i get why you'd want to be sure.

Those are gigs in which the seller (gig provider) will create an "investor ready business plan" and then "supposedly" claim to "promote" that business plan to "investors" and then will "supposedly" claim : "Hey, good news, I have this XYZ bank that is ready to fund you US$XX,XXX or US$XXX,XXX and as part of the process, you first have to open a bank account with them and deposit US$X,XXX".
Now, no doubt that the XYZ bank will be a legit bank. But, the part where XYZ bank has agreed to "fund" the business plan, this part will be a piece to crap.
Now, the buyer of the gig, then becomes horny and goes ahead and opens a bank account in XYZ bank WITH THE REFERENCE / REFERRAL of the gig seller (gig provider) and after opening the account, deposits the US$X,XXX and the REFERENCE / REFERRAL (gig seller) gets his or her referral commission from the bank.
By then the gig in the gig platform is already marked as complete and given a good rating by the gig buyer, because the gig seller is smart enough to have set the gig delivery as something like 4 or 5 days and play the game accordingly upto the point where the gig buyer has opened the bank account at XYZ bank and made that US$X,XXX deposit.
So, overall, it is not perse a scam, but we can say it is a blackhat way of earning some decent referral commissions from banks, with the "leverage" of an online marketplace AND with exploting the greed (and / or stupidity) of people.

wow....

I looked at a few and wondered how effective the marketing would be. I guess I'm too innocent though as I hadn't even thought of a way to scam, I guess I figured the worst case was their list was shit and you didn't get any investment and were out a couple hundred.
Didn't think of this aspect at all.

I don't understand what you said :-/
Is this the same with gofundme?
The question is for me or for Trust Work Shop ?

Ok, so, tonight, I took the plunge & posted.
Oh
My
God
Why didn't anyone warn me that Fiverr was the ninth circle of hell?
I've got someone who's applied by getting me a reply from ChatGPT.
I'm considering a Xanax infusion.

Unfortunately as with most open markets (think flippa, ebay, anywhere that isn't really moderated or vetted and anyone can setup an account) you will have a lot of crap on there, it's a low barrier of entry.
Anyone can setup an account and start selling.
You have to weed through the 200 shit listings/responses to find a gem.

I've been looking a lot on fiverr lately and some of the listings have things like 5 million quality backlinks for $5, or I'll create and design your wordpress site for $5. I came across something the other day, it was something ridiculous, something that would take me about 20 minutes to do, they were offering to do 100 of them manually for $15. Now, even if I was absolutely shit and it took them half the time it took me, that's still 16hrs of work for $15 (I highly doubt they could do it that quick anyway, so realistically 30hrs)
Now in my eyes that tells me it is in no way manual, it's 100% automated and I just scroll past.
I realise in some countries 50c an hr might be an ok wage, but then take out fiverr fees, processor fees. These people are either lieing in their gigs and automating their work, or screwing someone out of a job by listing for less, or it's going to be such poor quality work that I'd be better off getting my 8yr old son to do it for me for a bag of lollies.

Hopefully you find the right person for the job you're looking for.

I understand the problem, but you're getting jumped on like a single chick at a hetero party, filled with testosterone-filled dudes.
Seriously, some of them send you "hello, are you there?" messages.
Is this a freelance site or Tinder?
I'm on the verge of a blooper reel.
I have a provider who asked me for MY list of contributors ... to send them an email.

Thanks :)
I hope it will come to something.

A quick feedback on Fiverr's famous crowdfunding section.
In a word: a complete scam.
The service provider I selected just made a few nervous posts and that was it. I was naive in this instance, I freely admit.
I had placed another order on Fiverr to promote something else on the web, same result. A total scam.
Providers jump all over you, yelling at you when you don't reply within a minute, it's a horrible platform and I can understand why some people here have tried to take advantage of it.
The only advantage I can see is the payment gateway, as you pay for the service via the platform. But apart from that, it's very mediocre, to put it mildly.
