i love the site! i buy stuff all the time. i tried to sell a service where i take care of peoples pets in the event that they are raptured away to heaven - so far no luck, oh well. Anyway I don't think it's a scam, I buy the "chics" videos all the time and they pay for themselves.

Before you create another 12 useless gigs why not look at the popular gigs and figure out what you can do within that niche and create a gig... im telling you it will work.
And for those who are saying $5 isn't much and you only get $4 per gig think about this -- if you did just one gig a day every day for a year think about the amount of extra side cash you have pocketed... $1460 profit.

I have a couple gigs up, no orders as of yet but one gig is getting a bunch of hits.
What type of gigs are you guys having luck with? You don't have to say what it is specifically just a general idea.

I was looking through some of the requested gigs and it seems some people want A LOT for $5 "Build me an awesome website that ranks #1" Some people's sense of value is just waaaay off. 5 bucks doesn't even buy a pack of smokes around here so i doubt someone is going to put in hours of work for your $5.

Fiverr is great, I've not done any gigs, but I've paid for some great stuff that only cost $5! The things people will do ... 
I think Fiverr is getting to the point where if you want to make sales on your gigs then you have to promote your gigs elsewhere or else they are just going to get lost with all of the countless other gigs.
I think it is a good way of collecting buyer email addresses and then offering them a bigger service for more money.

I got couple of gigs and getting lots of sales with fiverr. But adding additional services for just $5 that's too low already. You're just degrading the quality of your service.

fiverr sucks my nut my competitor of gigs made a claim that I was spamming him with messages. They restricted my account to sending messages THEN claimed I was sending more while my account was restricted. How in the fuck is that possible? They banned my account for violating TOS and I can get my money in 45 days. I asked to see the messages and they said no.

What you describe sounds like the competitor arranged this to get you out of the way.
Did he get your account hacked, or outright lied is guesswork, but they could have at least shown you the messages...
On a brighter note - open a new account and modify it a bit, so its not immediately recognizable and use a new PPal too.

Look at the demographic of people there, and you guys seriously think you will make thousands there by doing SEO stuff for people!?
Do this: Think of many, outside the box things you can teach people. Make it very interesting, make it something that will catch their attention. Most importantly, make it a well thought out answer. Most importantly, have the information saved. This way, you can simply copy and paste the answer there, but make your presaved message look personal so it doesn't look shitty and it looks real.
To sum up my half asleep rambling: make tons of 'infoproducts,' and mass sell them.
That way, you can have many impressive interesting listings, and you can bank as quickly you can copy and paste things to them.
Better yet, make a video tutorial of whatever, then claim you will upload a video you made "just for them" to your Youtube. Have a few accounts, upload the videos daily so it looks like you just uploaded them, and the view count doesn't get high, and it looks legit. Have the video look amateurish so it looks like you just made it, yet have it informative and useful so you get paid.
