Hi, my first post here. I'm skeptical that many of the ibl pyramid techniques work as advertised. Maybe some of the members can make me a believer.

I joined up for a couple reasons. Primarily I'm looking for the latest advantages & tips for places / + ranking.

And after lurking, I'm curious if anyone has ever had success and knows for certainty that negative review pages in search engine results can be pushed done by a sloppy ibl.

I'm wondering if that is easier than building new pages up. Will the right kind of sloppy ibl negatively effect the rankings for a specific page, even if it is part of a well established .org review site?

Reputation management companies work it from a different angle, building pages up to take the place of the offending page.

I've read about - not that I'm advocating - only asking, if negative SEO aimed at an established .org page could deindex it, or cause it to lose ranking?

Is that kind of question too taboo for this part of the forum?

Mods and members, if this question is out of line, I will delete it straight away.

As for your question, there are 3 scenarios that can play out:

1. You do negative SEO to an established .org site and Google ignores those links altogether (Google does this with a lot of established sites that have questionable links pointing to the site). Basically nothing happens and the site remains where it is.

2. Google counts all the bad links and that particular page gets sandboxed by Google (disappears from the SERPS) and the webmaster receives a notice from Google about bad links pointing to his/her site. The webmaster uses the new disavow tool and removes the links and the site is back to where it was (or close to it).

3. Much like scenario No. 2, except that the webmaster or site owner does not do anything and the site remains deindexed by Google. This scenario is highly unlikely with an authority site as it certainly being monitored by someone (owner or webmaster).

In net, negative SEO towards an established .org website is a difficult proposition as the site has already built up trust and authority. Negative SEO on a "thin" or a "new" site is much more effective.

But not concerned with the entire offending site taking a hit. only the offending page. rep management companies charge a fortune. if only there was an easy way to to de-index or penalize a PAGE... say from someone like the B * B * B *

Can you imagine the money that could be charged.

Yes, I meant a page and not the entire site. There are ways, but the webmaster of an established site will quickly react to negative SEO and the page will be back up in now time.
