Okay, as thanks to this community I started a giveaway with random.org method for all the members (doesn't matter if they are Jr. Vip or regular) and it got deleted because of that First Come First Serve rule.

I ask the staff to explain to me why is this rule active? If I posted that I will record that random.org picking, why would it be forbidden?

@BassTrackerBoats @MisterF @Apricot

I wanted to give the opportunity to all members (doesn't matter if they are right now active or not) and then this, explain to me what is the point behind this rule?

Agree with you 100%. Its a free giveaway, shouldnt be a problem

There are ways to avoid it.

I'll give away this/that to the first member who's been here for more then 4 years and a post count between 292-1829.

Something like that.

Yes but as I said, I even want to help the newbies, starters, who don't have money to start some method...

Yes bro I agree with your point here, I can avoid it in many ways... But then why would rule be there if I should try to avoid it publicly and go on with it?

I think the idea is that people should know if they qualify before they post, to limit the number of spam replies.

Yes it might be, but what if I (as someone who wants to do a giveaway) don't want to sort people by post number, title or anything similar?

Couldn't help but notice your act of generosity following a ShitList thread.

Yeah buddy I get those are the rules. But still there is no clear explanation why is Random picking forbidden. I stated that I would live record the picking of numbers.

I don't make policy, as you probably know, but I am sure it is to keep things 100% transparent as to who gets the freebie.

I'm far from technical but I could fake a video of me picking a random person for a freebie using a site that gives one that option to do that. You are much better at video production so for you it would be a piece of cake (not saying you would).

Without allowing outside influences/influencers inside the freebie section that keeps things as clean as possible.

that say it all in english as copied from link.

It is against the rules to post freebies threads that are contests or sweepstakes or to ask for anything in return.

What benefit is there to such a complex giveaway? Simply picking the first X people should be sufficiently random, since there's a wide variety of people on the forum at any given time.

Hmmm faking a giveaway on that way you mentioned is really low-profile but yet it is possible, then this rule makes sense.
Thank you for explanation BTB, you're the man!

Can't translate, sorry.

If it's the case that you're really blind and this is not kind of a fucking troll, then I would like to apologize to you for everything in this thread and in the shitlist thread.
