First article on iwriter rejected, should I continue with them?

Also if you go to Upwork or ghost write for an agency, you will have to figure your hourly rate, rate per 100 is a forum metric for analyzing writing costs it seems. If it takes you one hour to write 300 words; for a 1,500 word article your hourly would be $9 with a total project cost of $45, at a $3 per 100 rate.
Also dont forget to quantify your research, 1 hour worth of research per 1,000 words is good, 2-3 if it's of a highly technical nature. So 1.5 hours of research for the above example project would be an additional $13.50. So your true cost of your time for writing the project would be $58.50, but if you didnt factor the amount of research into a bid your hourly becomes $6.92, not $9. If a writer is gonna lose pay on a project it's gonna come from research and rewrites. Dont even get me going on transcribing....

Also let me be clear on what my criteria are for judging this site and what my expectations were going into it. First off my plan was to write 10 articles keeping track of the main details and after completing that evaluate the site. I figured if the rejection rate was less than 50% that would make the site a viable income source and if the rejection rate was less than 25%, it would likely be a good income source. Things like the fact that standard writers are paid slave wages, that articles for which the authors were paid in bread crumbs may generate tremendous value for the requester and even the fact that there are apparently scammers on the site who are operating transparent frauds and stealing content from creators are not necessarily deal killers. I've been through the internet's grimiest tubes it's lowered my expectations to about the level dog sh*t sits at. Wild west is a a-ok. Wage slavery is par for the course. A few scammers? No problem. Scammers openly operating with impunity? A little more of a problem but not necessarily a deal killer.

The problems I'm seeing that would make it impossible to continue to use this service pertain to the company itself being a scam. Since I don't have tons of time to spend on this compiling evidence I just have to go with gut feeling, experience and what I read elsewhere. Here are a few major issues that make me seriously ponder weather I even want to continue my own simple 10 article evaluation process

-Open scammers operating with impunity. Ok so I just said this wasn't that big of a deal and normally it wouldn't be. In the online gambling world scammers who aren't dealt with properly by institutions are dealt with by individuals or the community as a whole. It's a cost of doing business. But even though I only spent maybe two hours between the two articles that were likely stolen, I'm kind of feeling disproportionately pissed off about it, which has caught me a bit off guard. I feel like someone just stole a couple K from me then told me to go f*** myself. Its that level of seething rage. Why? It's not entirely rational and its not healthy either, I have enough anger issues to begin with I don't need more encouragement. I think the explanation is because content creation in general and writing in particular involves putting your soul into the thing. Even though the stolen content was worth chump change I feel less like they stole a cheeseburger and more like they stole a pet.

-The site is running an incredibly shady looking "fast track to Elite Plus" program whereby the user pays the company $150 to become Elite Plus. There are so many problems with this I'm not sure they can be listed but this is close to the height of chicanery. Why are they allowing a quid pro quo payment to attain a meritocratic status? Why are there so many accounts of people being suckered into this only to find out it never raised thier status, i.e. they were flat out jacked? Why is this the first thing a new user to the site sees and why is it pounded into your face so hard at every step. This looks really bad.

-There are widespread reports of arbitrary bannings resulting in balance confiscations (read: flat out theft from writers). This is the most disturbing to me for obvious reasons.

-The owner chose to name his company the same thing as a gigantic scam that was featured on an hour long episode of American Greed, the Bryxen Group. Does this mean anything? It sure doesn't make me feel any better about it.

iWriter - it is a fuc``ng hell. Waste of time.

I haven't read through these replies man so I don't know what has been said about it, but I personally would go with upwork. I freelance on Upwork now. The amount they take can suck sometimes but it's a small price to pay to have consistent clients. Your first few clients you may have to offer really cheap or free work to, just to get some feedback. That's what I did. After you have good samples to send people, 4 or 5 good feedback, and you write decent proposals, getting clients is easy, and a lot of them on there pay you highly for your work.

My articles got rejected all three times. I can imagine they're not the greatest but I'm aware that I didn't write the worst. I write decent essays so I thought an article wouldn't be much of a hard work and such. Turns out their expectations are way way too high for a newbie standard writer. Do you think it's worth going to iwriter again? I'm about to be banned cause I'm not a 3 star rated writer after writing 3 articles.
