Finding Expired Web 2.0?

I've been trying to find expired web 2.0 sites with high pr.
I used scrapebox and harvested urls with using tumblr+keyword
Then looked for 'dead links'
but when checking those I haven't found any available ones.
I know this has probably been asked a gagillion times here but will Anyone show me how to do this?

Spend your time searching for quality expired domains rather than expired tumblr blogs. Web 2.0s can get deleted at any time, your expired domains are yours for as long as you want them.

I'm doing that also but getting high PR web 2.0 for free works well for me.
 
Subrepo was really good software to find expired high pr web2.0 but now the developer has vanished. It was great while it lasted but I'm just surprised that the seller abandoned it. I may create a solution of my own using C#. I mean technically could we not just scrape with scrapebox then check for 404 responses?

That's what I do for tumblr blogs...
But for blogspot it doesn't work like that..
You can't register a deleted blogspot and I don't know why...
I have found many blogs that were deleted but I wasn't able to register them (talking about 200+)

You can register a deleted blogspot as well. You just need to find the right ones.
Google has a 90 days period after deletion when the username won't be available. After that, if the blog still has links/pr/pa, you can register and benefit from it.

Keep in mind there are more web2.0s that you can set your sights on. You can register expired Weebly, Tumblr, Blogspot, etc. I am going to have to make my own software that fills in the absence of SubRepo now that it's dead. I just need to know the responses that these websites give - either response (ie. 404) or HTML response (ie. "this address is available") - to indicate their availability. Doing this kind of sh*t by hand is mind-numbing and I refuse to do it.

I believe that these expired properties would make fantastic parasite pages.

I'm sure I could come up with a way to automatically double-check the blogspot availability as well. Once again, what you're doing sounds enormously tedious. I'm looking for a smart and scalable solution.

how can we automate this and or use tools to find them.

what errors show for the different properties when they're expired?
 
scrapebox works the problem is everyone is doing the same.
so they are just getting re-registered before you get to them.

Well if they just return a 404 error then scrapebox can handle everything. I have a few lists of potentially available web2.0s from when the old tool used to work so I may crawl through them and do a little homework. Some are bound to still be available for registration. If someone with experience registering expired web2.0 would like to share samples I would he happy to share any software I develop with them :P.

This is a topic I am very interested in though :).
 
So when running scrapebox you check for 404 errors or dead links? Or are those one and the same?

That is great news, I always though that they subdomains were gone forever, or nearly forever.

ScrapeBox has an addon specifically for checking expired Web 2.0 called the Vanity Name Checker http://www.scrapebox.com/vanity-name-checker

Out of the box it works with:

Tumblr.com
Wordpress.com
YouTube.com
BlogSpot.com
LiveJournal.com
Twitter.com
Pinterest.com
Weebly.com
Flickr.com
OverBlog.com
WikiDot.com

For other sites not included in the Vanity Name Checker, yes you could possibly use the Alive Checker Addon. Just first use something like http://httpstatus.io/ and enter the URL of a registered profile and a non registered profile so you can find out the response codes to add to the Alive Checkers options. Generally registered profiles will return a 200 response and non registered profiles return a 404 response, or sometimes a 302 redirect.

The other thing which may happen is the Web 2.0 will return the same 200 response for both registered and unregistered profiles so you cant tell them apart by the response headers, but instead they will print a specific text on the screen for example "Invalid user specified".

For platforms like this, just load up the Page Scanner Addon http://www.scrapebox.com/page-scanner and add the "Invalid User Specified" footprint and scan the pages for it and any profile containing this should be available to register.

Awesome for the info I'm going to check it out more when I get home. I had no idea scrapebox had that add on! I was just going to use it to check for http response but this even better!

but still web 2.0s are free and are on "authoritative and trusted" domains. Publish quality content on them and link to your money site, they will most likely stick.
