Finding a good niche?

I have got some new content software I would like to test out, and i am going to be making an adsense niche/authority site as a case study(sort of). i know how to find good keywords for a given niche, but i really do not have any niche in mind for the new site. I have LongTailPro and a couple other keyword research tools, but can these be used for finding potential niches?

Always go after a niche where you know there is money being made.
No point in having rankings if it doesn't convert.

There are still good keywords to be found and if you are good at SEO you can even target the main keywords.
So by all means, go after the weight loss or finance niche. At least there is money to be made

Go after any niche and try to dominate it, dont go for 10-20 niche that wont help you at the initial stages.

You could use Google Trends if you have done it before. It is a good way to profitable niche. Usually i would find something that is still coming up and with low competition yet and possible to rank. You could use Google tools to estimate potential profit from AdSense (yes, it is not a guarantee... ) as well based on few keywords

I think it depend. If you are not good at SEO like me and you count on social networks for traffic, then you have to know what people are looking for in your social network. For example in Pinterest 80% of the users are female mid age. So weight loss/healthcare niche is perfect. If you have tumblr for example, most of the users are horny teenagers - porn will be perfect. But from my experience " fight cancer " niche pay the most. I just don't feel like making money from that niche... people that will read those articles, they are in pain, they have someone closer to them, who have this f*cking disease, they will click on your advertisment, because they are looking for the answer.
