I've been a more mainstream affiliate, dealing directly with the merchants in my finance niche, I signed up for Clickbank and have started promoting some of their products.

I made a 300x250 block for text ads on my site and have pasted the CB affiliate URL's (made it look like adsense of sorts)

Is there anything I should bear in mind? I'm assuming that when sales starts, clickbank will be paying me?

Also noticed that unlike most networks, where you need to be approved to promote a campaign, at CB it seems more straightforward. Can someone please elaborate on this?

    Thanks.

    CB is open for anyone

you dont even need a website

they do have guidelines for promoting, but i never heard anyone has been suspended by CB

It's close to 30 minutes since I put up the links.. I did a test click and no records of that in the analytics.. am I missing something here?

clicbank report is not real time update system. You need to wait to the day end to get the report but it can miss something, especially when the report system delays (yellow button on the left of analytic panel).
Anyway, good luck with your journey.

    Update:

It's day 2 now, almost 2 hours.. Reports show nothing. My question: Am I using the right tracking?

I go to marketplace, select category, click on product which opens a window by default has my CB username, I enter an optional tracking tag and I paste the code.

Can someone advise if this is the right approach?

Once you are logged in, click on 'Reporting' then 'Analytics'.

it takes time and they don't count your IP in the analytics unless you actually buy something.

So if I get this right.. Unless there's a purchase I won't see any clicks at all? Let alone impressions??

Very interesting. I'll give this some time and see how it goes else will get my account closed.

you will see clicks as well as conversions, im sure you did it right. just hop onto another ip and go to the site, then click the "order now" (or whatever button) because it tracks those clicks as well. there aren't too many ways to mess clickbank up. it's not an easy hustle though (not for me). but ive always gotten paid.

    Some tips for you:

Do not fucking promote FOREX robots. They are garbage. I was like you when I started out and I really made bank with Clickbank. Then I started promoting Forex Robots during a JV launch. In the first day of the launch, I banked in 2K! You could imagine how excited I was. I remember in total I banked about 3-4K for just that one product. Then a week later, the nightmare came.... refunds and refunds.

My clean account became stained due to the high refund rates. Thus, my allowance rate was increased from 10% to 20%. It is really fuckin' terrible.
But I was stubborn to take that as a lesson, I promoted another forex robot and the same happened (fortunately my allowance rate was still the same - 20%).

I later realize forex robots are way too risky to promote, because the salespage promise so much that when investors fail to see the promise fulfilled, they will freakin' ask for refunds.

So according to rank, do not promote the following products:

    1) Forex Robots
    2) IM Products
    3) Stock or Penny Stock newsletters

In my experience, they are the worst products to promote. Refund rates are pretty high, unless the purchaser is dumb to not ask for a refund.
If you're wondering why I listed IM products, it isn't because the refund rate is high... rather, IMers will exploit Clickbank's exploit.
For instance, if someone promote me an IM product promising me that I can get high returns, then I, as an affiliate, can simply purchase from my affiliate link or purchase from your affiliate link and later ask for a refund. Get what I mean?
BUT of course this usually happens like 30-40% of the time... if the purchaser is new to IM, then you're in luck!

But other than that, Clickbank is easy money and fun!

    Good luck! :D

Weight loss niche very profitable if you can get the traffic, sort by gravity to get best performing sites to promote, highest gravity and best payouts, there's your bank!

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm into forex and started promoting a few trading courses and auto trading products. Weight loss won't be a fit.. any other products that might be of value?

Be sure you are using the correct html codes for your clicbank banners. Did you replace the xxxx in the code with your affiliate id? The html banner code should have something that looks like this
    Code:
    http://xxx.vendorid.hop.clickbank(dot)net
. You should replace xxxx with you clickbank id. After that click the banner go to sales page then click order button. On the credit card info page scroll down to the bottom. Your affiliate id should show at bottom of credit card info page. If it doesn't you are not using the right affiliate code in your banners and therefore no hops will show up in your clickbank analytics. No hops mean no sales.

I think you are in the way of right tasks and this is true that CB is more direct and they are very helpful as it can be done without having websites as well.
