Hieee!

Can we increase the edit time allowed for threads/posts?

Right now, the allowed time to edit one's own post is set to 15 minutes. It would be great if it is set to an hour. This is especially true in the cryptocurrency section (also, this would prevent post bumping which irks members who aren't into cryptos). It will also save moderators a lot of time rather than having to merge multiple posts into one.

And thanks @Zwielicht ! For all your hardwork in merging threads, and multiple posts into one!

I like the idea of bumping up the post edit time limit. Based on the posts I've had to merge in that section so far, that 15 minute post edit window was the causes of many of those double-posts.

I agree with OP, @Zwielicht you could still increase it by +15minutes, everyone will be benefited.

I'm not an administrator, so I can't increase that time limit. But yeah, I think even an additional 15 minutes would help out those members who like to edit their posts a lot afterwards. Members like me, actually; but I'm a mod, and as such, do not have that restriction. Still, I can empathise.

Yes, it's a good point.

There's a fine line to be drawn here. If the edit time limit's too short, then we end up with double posts or bumps where there shouldn't need to be. However, it does get abused when there's too much edit time. People post inflammatory posts, someone responds in like, then the first person deletes their post or changes it entirely, so it looks like they've been needlessly attacked.

You'd be surprised how often it happens (and how many people will flatly deny they've changed anything because they don't know we can see the thread history :D ).

So I've extended the edit time limit to 30 minutes now, across the board. We'll see how it goes - if there's any problems we'll readjust as necessary.

@Apricot Fantastic, this is what it makes the forum look great. We asked for it and got it!
Thanks again!

I noticed you edited your "Only SEO Guide That's Worth Reading" at some point, which is the other thing that might be worth noting. Guides and threads like the https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/the-ultimate-blackhatworld-thread-repository.915304/ could benefit from a way for the original posters to edit in changes as needed.

Not sure how ZenForo works exactly -- if there's a way to allow users to edit to post that have been tagged as guides (re: thread prefix feature, possibly), that might be useful.

ty boss - sometimes its the little things that go along way.

i think allowing JR. Vip to have more time than normal users would be a good method of filtering out shit posts while offering another reward to Jr. Vip's

Excellent news !

I also agree with @kittykut about the increased time being for paid members, if this becomes abused as increased for all.

I think it's a good point it should be allowed for Jr.VIP only that's who are more dedicated with BHW .... although Administrator will take the right decision that we respect :-)

I've edited that thread a whopping 43 times as people don't like outdated sticky threads.

Some people who have sticky threads will send me the modified code from their thread so that I can make the changes for them. This isn't all that time-consuming, so I have no problem with this dynamic.
