Hello,
I've recently embarked on a YouTube journey, and I've been at it for a week now. Initially, my videos garnered a few hundred views with an impression click-through rate (CTR) of 5 to 8%. However, lately, I've noticed a significant drop in impressions, with almost no one seeing my thumbnails. This makes me wonder if YouTube has somehow blacklisted my channel.
I create compilation videos with minimal commentary, a popular format on YouTube done by many creators. Although my channel is only a week old and it might take some time for YouTube to start recommending my videos, I have my doubts. My first three videos received a lot of impressions and views, so the sudden decline is puzzling. Additionally, the videos that did get views had around a 45% retention rate, which isn’t particularly impressive.
I'm starting to question the quality of my videos. Should I make changes? Is my microphone and audio quality sufficient? I would greatly appreciate feedback from an outside perspective. Personally, I dislike my voice, but I’ve been told it resembles the voice of the "Daily Dose of Internet" narrator. Inspired by that feedback, I aimed to create similar content with a positive and happy tone. However, there’s only so much I can change with compilation videos.
Some comments have labeled me a copycat, which isn’t the reputation I want. Nonetheless, I enjoy the react commentary compilation style and want to continue with it. Could my content be too similar to "Daily Dose of Internet," resulting in low engagement? Any advice or insights would be immensely helpful.
