I know that most of you use WordPress for your sites.
But, if some of you are using Drupal 7, here is my feedback.

Prerequisite: all my sites use Drupal 7. I know the system well, I'm comfortable with the modules, I know how to make themes, etc. So, when I learned that Drupal 7 would stop in November 2023, I wondered what I was going to do.

I already tested Drupal 9 last year. In short, I cried very hard.

This weekend, I tried two approaches:
  • Backdrop CMS;
  • WordPress.
Backdrop CMS is strongly inspired by WordPress but with Drupal components. On some points, it is very good: little superfluous code, fast, simple.

Negative points: very few ready-to-use themes. On this point, there is everything to build, including responsive templates. Another very negative point: for SEO, the tool is naked. No Adsense module – you have to integrate the script in a PHP template (I don't remember which one) – no modules for sharing content on social networks.

So, it's good for very basic blogs.

Today, it was WordPress.

I must admit that it's easy to use, that there are a lot of templates ready to use. The thing that puts me off is that any extension is not free, but at worst, I'll do without and I'll tinker.

So, when Drupal 7 is really finished, I will switch my money sites to WordPress. Because Backdrop CMS, to my great regret, is not mature enough yet.

If you're looking for a lightweight CMS, I recommend checking out Ghost or Grav. They're both based on the Markdown markup language which is very easy to learn. And they're both very fast and efficient.

I don't know if it will really fit my needs. Overall, the SEO tools are really well developed on WordPress. On Drupal 7, the essentials were there. Now, on Backdrop CMS, I feel like everything is to be built. I'll have a look at the tools you mention :)
