So what kind of ways are their to get a user to install your extension in the first place? That is the only aspect that is not quite clear to me.

what would the server be built in?
the one where you issue commands and view whos online etc
 
is there a extension that will work for any browser? as not everyone uses chrome. eg me i use firefox

No, you have to build one for each browser. Chrome extensions are easier to build and have a big market share.
Start slow and targetting Chrome..

Assuming you added the actions your extension would do in small print in the TOS I assume this would be no more illegal than any other legit adware company, yes?

I mean like the stuff PPV networks have installed on their user's systems to deliver ads.

Obviously CSing and such can get you in big trouble but if all you do is serve up ads, etc then am I so wrong to think this would be ok?
 
leechers using this method with shared scripts and plugins will never make any cash out of it. Don't waste your time.
This is a rather more complex method for the ones with programming skills and smart strategic thinking.
 
you just discovered one of the methods i've been using for the last month :) but thats only one of many :)
but after you already told it here .. so yes its a great method people .. go for it :)
 
Don't forget that this method can be mixed up with other social networks and not just facebook :)

Hmmm very clever idea dude, requires some work for people like me who suck @ss when it comes to programming but I love the concept and it's definitely worth the time to figure out how to do create a toolbar...just gotta think of a good idea for a toolbar now...hmm :)
