FB Reels algorithm shift?

I’ve seen similar dips across a couple of pages in different niches. What’s interesting is that older Reels are still pulling steady traffic, but new uploads are struggling to break initial distribution.

That’s very possible. If the algorithm doesn’t clearly understand your content theme or audience signals yet, distribution can fluctuate a lot. Consistency in messaging and engagement patterns usually helps it recalibrate over time.

Yep, keep that in mind when you create reels and your organic growth will go up again.

Reels are the only high-reach organic play left, but you’ve got to trigger the "Watch Time" threshold in the first 2 seconds to stay in the algorithm's favor. If you're not layering a strong CTA within that organic loop, you're just leaving money on the table.

Yes, Reels sharp drop is likely due to a recent algorithm update.

Meta’s latest core update definitely nerfed "low-effort" Reels, pushing them down in favor of high-retention content. If you're seeing a cliff-drop in reach, it's time to refresh your "Creative Fingerprint" or pivot to a more interactive hook to trick the new engagement threshold.

Decreased reach could be due to algorithm changes, but it could also be because your content is gradually becoming less high-quality
AI videos are becoming increasingly common, so facebook is tightening ít content guidelines

Meta’s AI "Scraping" is now highly sensitive to generic AI-generated frames; if your video lacks "Human-like" entropy, it gets ghost-banned. The key for 2026 is using AI for efficiency but layering in unique metadata and manual edits to bypass the "low-quality" filter

Thank you for that tip! Only for reels in FB or for Twitter and Instagramn too? So a strong hook is needed...

You should improve your content; you need to motivate your customers to save your videos or interact with your content. If your content truly provides value to customers, the platform will automatically suggest a higher level of visibility for you.

That works and is allowed? I bet when millions of online business people doing wit with success, then FB, Twitter and IG will bring out a ban that this is "manipulation" of users or something. And any manipulation is against their policies. Be aware people !

Meta updates its algorithms regularly, so it's normal for minor errors to occur. This is a common situation, or many people experience the same thing as you, you're not the only one.

Reels performance can fluctuate when the algorithm changes or when more creators compete for attention. Because of that, focusing on high-quality content and encouraging genuine engagement is usually the best approach for maintaining stable reach over time.
