Favorite 90's Movie?

I liked Terminator, I haven't seen that many 90s movies but I'll take note of the recommendations that people leave in this thread
That one was amazing, pretty sure Skynet is referenced 100 times a day now with AI out etc.....

My 90's fav movie is Deep Blue Sea.

As usual, as the Self-Appointed Resident Film Snob of BHW, I will be taking notes on people's tastes in this thread and adding them to my dossier.
And let me tell you, it's not looking good for most of you.

True Lies

Best movie ever

Also Matrix
True lies was great. I can definitely get on board with the matrix. I remember my philosophy teacher @SFSU could not stop talking about that one. If I remember correctly, he kept comparing it to The allegory of The Cave.

can't pick one, but some - in no particular order: goodfellas, matrix, fight club, hackers, reservoir dogs, ghost in the shell, pulp fiction, casino, heat, lost highway, dark city, terminator 2, trainspotting, fear and loathing in las vegas, the big lebowski, mallrats, the meaning of life.. and so many more

So many good movies.
yeah, I don't know where to start either with this as I feel that the 90s have been the golden era of movies. Also, +1 for the The Mask :)

Anyway, let's begin with some of my favorites that I can remember off the top of my head...

But first, my favorite series:

Seinfeld
Poirot (David Suchet version)
Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett version)
Mind Your Language (seasons 1-3 only, the 4th one I've never watched because I've heard that half of the original cast hasn't been in it...)

And now to the actual movies...

The Mask
Under Siege
Matrix
Die Hard
Universal Soldier (the original one, with Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren)
Heat
Lethal Weapon
LA Confidential
Black Dahlia
Point Break
Enemy of the State
Hard Boiled
The Fugitive
Tombstone
Yes, Madam (starring Cynthia Khan and Cynthia Rothrock, the movie might have a different name, but this is the one I know it by)
Leon
Ronin
Speed (1 and 2, I think there was a 3rd one too, but I don't remember to have liked it)
True Lies
Ace Ventura
The Usual Suspects
Sleepy Hollow
Bad Boys
Independence Day
The Rock
Mission: Impossible
Star Trek (I think all of the ST movies can be included in here, they've all been great at their times)
Payback (the 1999 one with Mel Gibson, really great movie at that time)
Space Jam
Braveheart (never been a big fan of this movie, but I can see why it can be considered a top 10 movie of [whichever year]...
Face Off
Starship Troopers (also never been a fan of gore and cheap violence, but this one has some charm to it, I don't know what it is, but it's enjoyable)
Conair
The Fifth Element
Judge Dred (the Sylverster Stallone one, although I admit that the Karl Urban one is also good, but this list is about the 90s movies, so...)
Total Recall (the Arnold Schwarzenegger + Sharon Stone one)
The Peacemaker
Men in Black
The Sixth Sense
Unbreakable
The Mummy
Wild Wild West
Star Wars Episode 1 - the Phantom Menace (well, all 3 episodes of SW should be watched regardless of which year they came out, but only this one had come out in the 90s)
Executive Decision (probably the only Kurt Rusell movie that I ever liked, I don't know why but I've never been a fan of that dude... but this movie is EPIC)

Anyway, I admit that I cheated a little bit and looked some of these titles up, but that's only because I have totally forgotten their titles since 30 years ago when I used to know them all by running time, extended cast and whatnot (yeah, I really have been a movie nerd back then :p )

But if you guys love action movies as much as I used to like them, I can tell you right now that you can't go wrong with any action movie in which these actors have starred:

Jean Claude van Damme
Bruce Willis
Steven Seagal
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Sylvester Stallone
Will Smith
Wesley Snipes (oh yeah, I didn't even include the Blade series and The Art of War in this list, which are also great action movies, but I think they might have come out in the 2000s, so probably that's why I didn't find them on lists of top 90s movies, but they're still great watches regardless)
Denzel Washington
Al Pacino
Robert de Niro
some Val Kilmer movies too...
also George Clooney has had a few good action movies if I recall (with The Peacemaker being my favorite)

So yeah... lots of gems in the 90s and even in the 2000s if you're an action movie fan. And even psychological / mystery / thriller movies have been great in that decade, I included a few of my favorite ones in the list above, so find them and watch them cause they're really good if you're into these genres (and also don't miss the Poirot and Sherlock Holmes series, they're also falling in these categories...)

Well there are so many but still love to watch Shahrukh Khan's movie... love them all. no if not but :D
Pades specially i love the movie script and songs
Pyar kiya to Darna kya
Hum aapke hai Kaun
DDLJ

Too many to name, the 90's could arguably be considered the greatest year ever for films.

A bronx tale comes to mind but many others as well.

quoting myself because I want to make a correction regarding Mind Your Language. This show had aired in the 70s (holy crap, time flies!), not in the 90s. Sorry for the error!

For those of you who have never heard of this show, it was so racist that even the commissioner of the series (Michael Grade, who was also once head of the BBC) said it should never have been aired.

It has a Chinese character in it who mixes up her pronunciation of the letter 'l' and 'r', that sort of thing.

when has he said it? Because if it's been recently (after 2015) it's possible that he has said it to comply with the current agenda, If he had said it in the 70s-80s, it's a different story even though I still don't agree with it.

Regardless, I am allowed to like whatever I want as long as I don't bother people, and I am also not being racist since I don't hate any race, so I don't see any problem with this

My all-time favorite is The Matrix. But if we’re talking pure 90s vibe, then definitely Jurassic Park and Home Alone — childhood just wouldn’t be childhood without them

As for me, I'm very like Fight Club. I'm a big fan of that movie.
Oh, Fight Club — top tier! Such a great movie, really makes you think and messes with your mind a bit. I love it for all that chaotic energy and the unexpected twists
