How do most of you guys handle editing/proofreading guest articles?

I've been using After the Deadline plugin (built in jet-pack) to scan articles for spelling and grammar errors then I'll read the entire article and edit it if necessary. But after months of doing this, I've come to the point right now that I'm being worn out by the whole process especially when I might have read, edit and publish multiple long articles everyday.

Is there a better (and free) way of doing this? Cuz, I'd rather spend more time building my site(s) traffic then spending hours reading and manually editing guest articles.
