So... I started pushing a lot of content on a site of mine recently (up to 5 articles/day). The site already gets traffic and has had about 15 pages indexed for months now, so it's not really a new site. It's out of the sandbox.

Now the problem is it takes multiple weeks before these new articles get indexed if even at all. Started content push the 27th of June. 1/19 articles are indexed so far, and I'm losing interest in pushing more content because of it. I could easily stick to posting 5 times a day for a couple weeks if they get indexed within a few days.

Site has 0 links really, 1 link I landed a couple days back but not indexed yet. Everything is whitehat.

What do I do here?

Have you got the basics right?

  1. Sitemap submitted
  2. Ping services (you're on WordPress I suppose?)
  3. Requesting indexing from GSC for each post
  4. Internal linking
  5. No crawl errors

Let me know if you want me to have a look, would be an interesting case study.

Yes to all those.

The short answer would be to invest in some backlinks if possible.
The idea of Google's crawl frequency is around how popular your website is. If your website has a lot of quality links pointing to it, gets a lot of traffic and ranks for decent keywords then Google will want to crawl it more frequently. You may be posting plenty of content on a consistent basis, but if no one takes notice of it (traffic, links) then why should Google come to your website more than it already does?

Yes to all those.
Try getting a couple of backlinks from Wikipedia, it's not as difficult as it seems. They get indexed within a few hours naturally. I have noticed it helps getting pages indexed quickly.

But mind you, it is just a workaround. Having backlinks helps, although a lack of them does not mean Google totally ignores a website like it's doing to yours right now.

The real reason, well, I'm not sure why that would happen.

My newest blog (that I started a little more than a month back) gets all new posts indexed within a day, just by following the basics.

How would you rate your content on a scale of 1 to 10? Are they spun articles, given you're posting 5 a day?

Low quality content may take time to get indexed or not get indexed at all. But for that, it needs to be really bad which I doubt it is in your case.

You would need to invest into backlinks or make sure your onpage SEO work is perfect or send your site to some kind of indexer software

Indexer software is a big no go for a whitehat site so no. And my onepage is on par, just having a WP site is good enough onpage to get indexed. Doesn't mean you rank well, but it makes sure you get indexed at least...

I'd say content is 9/10. It's translated then edited, texts flow more than well and is 100% readable. Good content.

I'll get some Wikipedia links actually, for all my sites while I'm at it :D

Keep doing what you have been doing and planned to do. Sooner or later your web site will get indexed.
Do not waste your time for waiting and checking the reasons and finding the ways.

Having good content, sitemap, proper/good silo structure along with good interlinking should be good enough to drive the crawlers to the new pages/posts and get them indexed,
If you're posting decent content already, sending a few HQ links should increase the website authority along with crawling rate and budget,
Having a "white hat" website is pure shit, google does love links and it's the most important factor to rank & gain trust,
ignoring that will cost you multiple sets of things,
If you're really worried, then just aim for HQ links, let them be only guest posts (PBNs are usually more powerful compared to the price)

Well, yeah that's my approach. Site in question is non-english which means it's harder to land links. It's still relatively new which is why I've only been able to land one link so far, but I'm working on it!
Yes they can I will send them to Google office one will beatup the Google staff while that's going on the other ferret rob the office then give me my cut of the stolen stuff.
Spoke to your ferret, said he gave them a good bashing at the office. Apparently my pages would be indexed this afternoon already. Tell him thank you from me, I didn't have the chance to tell him myself :(
Make your website into a google news site
It's not a news site though? Half of it is informational content, the rest is aff articles. All of it in a specific niche ofc.

I have a news site that only syndicates my affiliate posts. Works well for indexing.
Also they didn't care about the content two months ago. Got a site approved with unreadable spintax

Then just wait and get those backlinks in a natural-looking way.

Another thing: How is your website getting indexed on Bing? Or say DuckDuckGo? It's worth checking to get an idea.

You may also slow down with new content if your crawl budget is low given it's not an established site. Don't think it is an issue, still you ight wanna give it a try.

In my case, even though Google indexes new content quickly, Bing refuses to do so for most of the posts. I have absolutely no clue why, there are no errors identified in BWT either. So it can happen sometimes. Thankfully in my case it was Bing that didn't love me, so I was not as bothered although I wanted to tap in the decent Bing user base in a few regions. You my friend don't have that liberty I'm afraid.

Having said that, I would like to see how the progress goes and what works, update in this thread later. Good luck.

More content indexed on Bing than Google, haven't checked DDG.

And yeah Google doesn't give me a lot of crawling really, this is for discovery:

8 crawls in almost 20 days, of which all were useless as they were to category 2nd pages and /feed/ lol
