You overestimate the clients ability to recognize a bad links.. A freaking lots of people have no idea that a shiny website doesn't mean "good" or "strong".

Very true, although their biggest clients are likely agencies buying on behalf of clients.. people like that really should know what they're doing, then again maybe they do and just don't care.

I think their marketing is so good and shiny it hooks unknowing people in, it's not until they've got some work done that they see what's really up.

Wow, all this talk about the hoth has changed my perspective on alot of things. I really considered them as an authority in the seo space.

Slightly off-topic, but I have looked through my FatJoe.co posts. I wanted to see whether they were on real sites or not.

I've ordered over 50 posts from them, mainly on higher DA (20+ or 30+) sites.

1 low DA site no longer exists. 5 posts have been taken down by the site owners. 1 seems to be a PBN site.

The other sites probably would pass a manual review, but 17 of them seem to exist for the sake of selling guest posts. They aren't quality sites, despite the high DA metric. But as we know, DA can be manipulated easily.

They seem to deliver what they say they deliver. I personally doubt the effectiveness of these posts simply because the blogs have such high OBL. Some of the posts have 5 links on them, before footers and sidebars are considered.

I'd use a few to establish niche relevancy and perhaps help with anchor text profile, but they aren't going to move mountains.

You should've checked if the sites are getting traffic. If they aren't... Then they are just there to sell links. If it has a higher da and no traffic, then it's an expired domain

I have same heard this from the other website claiming the same thing. These big giants have a lot of name on the market and still, they didn't provide Top-Notch quality.
I think you should try those who are in BST or those websites who are still struggling in becoming a good name in links building campaigns.

a good test is to see how many similar IPs their sites are on, ahrefs has a good tool for this. The more backlinks a domain has that has an identical C-class IP the higher the liklihood that it is part of a PBN network. Sites I have ordered from FatJoe.co have not passed this test in my experience.

It could be poor work rather than FJ being the owner of the PBN.

I've come across PBN owners who earn by publicising that they will publish any paid article.

If you look at the "How to obtain guest posts" articles by the usual guru crowd, they all say to search Google for phrases like "Write for this site" or "Submit a guest post". If you were looking to earn from accepting guest posts to your PBN, you'd simply whack a button at the top of your home page with exact match for these phrases, and then wait for the "outreachers" to come and offer you money.

Everyone wins: the outreachers are technically outreaching, so the clients can think it is whitehat; it is easy to find sites that accept guest posts, so the outreachers do less work (and the sites aren't that bothered by the quality of the writing; and the PBN owners get easy money with no external advertising.

Next time I have an ahrefs sub I'll check out the C-class IP profile.

A lot of sellers in the marketplace do exactly the same.

the hoth has very bad reputation. They started out as a service few years back from another forum I think and since then have only been selling PBN links, article submissions, web 20s etc. It's a thing with brand and marketing that customers want to try them out (sales pitch works well I guess) but their overall quality is below standard. I have heard about Rank aura or something here on BST owned by someone else. Has good reviews though never personally tried it.
