Facebookdude's Complete Guide To Banking With Facebook PPC!

A good question to ask, is when to call it quits in terms of the campaign. What flags as a bad campaign. I know not enough conversions but what other factors do you look for?

Well when I have a campaign that isn't profiting I usually play around with it but you usually know when it's time to chuck it in the trash.

For something like this, does the landing page have to be like very appealing or can you just have a picture of Charlie Sheen above the vote box with a simple white background?

The more appealing the more money you'll make :) Make it basic though.

so in your opinion cpc is better than CPM?
asking because you gave the example of CPC.
so we would certainly need to blank/fake d referrer after the vote button link, right?

Yes don't even bother with CPM it's shit. And yeah best to blank the referrer. Totally optional though.

I'd be curious to hear the OP's opinion on CPC vs CPM as well. As a publisher I like the idea of CPC but when it comes to traditional media buys CPM is the norm.

ULaaallaaaa!

Nice Views you've Given but according to me FB ADS is Just a dumb thing!

I've used them at once ; and the result was unexpected!

Dude, you are sick! thats a really good guide for people who wants to start this or just wanna learn some tricks :)

And dont be satisfied with the first version. Test, so you see different results and choose whats best for you.

I don't understand the purpose of redirecting, when you can just direct link. What's the difference? According to what you say, they will end up on your website anyway.

Second, drawing traffic for something and expecting them to email submit for something else is a horrible idea. Not only you are lowering your conversion rate by not direct linking to the offer, you are also lowering it way down by expecting them to do something extra, which is going to another website and email submitting in this case.

0.05c per click is like a miracle with facebook. I have never seen an est cpc less than a dollar and if you try to promote a dating offer, min bid will be around $1 per click. The bidding rate all depends on your ctr and once you get low clicks, they jack up your cost per click. They don't give you 8.5 million impressions all at once. They release the impressions capped.

You are saying that cpm is crap and i don't understand why you are saying that. Are you sure you are actively running campaigns on there or you just heard this from somewhere and posting on here? Everyone who does facebook marketing knows that cpm is the best way to go, once you optimize your campaign with split testing ads and landing pages. You should ALWAYS switch to cpm once you fully optimize your campaign and get the lowest cpc possible. Facebook will give you a huge discount when you switch to cpm and that's the only way to see 0.04c clicks.

When you are starting a new campaign, facebook will offer you an estimated cpc. NEVER accept that, but you can go as low as 50% of what fb offers. When it's below the minimum bid, fb will show you a text with yellow background and warn you that you may not get many impressions. This means that if you bid that amount, you won't see any impression at all. When you see that warning, just increase your bid in 0.10c increments, till the warning disappears. Once it disappears, it means that that's the lowest bid you can go to see any impression for that targeted demographic.

If you read my post I state that the reason I redirect is to get the ad approved. Since it is so hard to them to approve anything with a cpa offer on it.

You must not run any PPC campaigns because the poll/vote method for PPC is one of the most successful and best method to follow. Ask any Facebook advertiser. We do this to get the user involved and then we give them a reward.

Switch to CPM? Complete bull shit. For cpm to work you have to have an ultra targeted campaign of around 100k estimated reach lol. With CPC you can be as broad as you want and you can get keywords no one is using. Also, I have had a extremely profitable campaign where I have had 3 million impressions.. Imagine if I paid CPM on that! LOL

I'm not saying you are wrong but I have been doing this a longggggg time and this is just what has worked for me. Thanks for the input :)

Yeah, once the ad has been tested and optimized switch to CPM and watch your ass by setting a daily budget. Sooner or later, you'll get ad fatigue by Facebook users and not many clicks. Then its time to switch back to CPC or terminate the ad and then come up with a new ad. Rinse and repeat. It comes down to testing and trying each method and determining what works for you.

Some Extra Tips

1) Never try cupid, flirty dating offers on fb because they won't approve. They banned those offers and if you keep resending to get approved, they will ban you too.

2) Don't copy someone else's ad. You don't know if the person knows what s/he is doing. Be creative and write your own ad copy. Yes, there's a theory that if you see the same ad spinning for a month, then it's probably making money. This is a huge guru scam and they lied to noobs with this shit for years to make money. Why? Because you don't know the backend of the offer. You have no idea how much that person is getting paid per lead. You might be even on the same network, promoting the same offer but if his leads are quality and if he has a good account history, he might be getting paid much more per lead. While you might have a losing campaign with $1.5 per lead, he might be getting $2 per lead and totally be profitable.

3) Facebook is not like Adwords! In Adwords, the more targeted you are, the more G will reward you. Not with facebook. When you start a new campaign, the less targeted you are, the less cpc will be. You know why? Because they know that they can charge you more with less targeted traffic. You will end up getting irrelevant click happy idiots and your conversion rate will be crap. Once, you laser target your visitors, the impression will be lower but you will get better conversions. That's why facebook jacks up the cpc the more targeted you are. Try it, create a campaign and make it broad, then add some keywords and see what happens to your cpc. It will sky rocket! So, make sure have a high paying offer, otherwise you will burn a lot of money in no time.

4) Have plenty of money. Facebook is now the most expensive self serving ad platform out there. If you have less than 100$ budget, forget it. It takes much more than that to tweak a campaign and make it profitable. Because facebook does not support similar ads like adwords does. Yes, you can create a similar ad but fb will still charge you for both ads and gladly take your money. It's not like adwords, that you can create clones and run whichever is successful. You still pay for both. Still make a bid for both ads seperately.

5) The biggest downfall of fb ad platform is day parting. They don't support it and i don't think they will ever support it. For the people who don't know what day parting is: The exact time of the day you get the most clicks. You can just examine what time of the day you get the most clicks, so you can stop your ads during non performing hours. But fb does not give you that info on campaign summary. And if you get less clicks, your cpc goes up and you end up paying more!

So what's the way around for that? Unfortunately, you don't have many options especially if you are direct linking to cpa offer. Because you are not in control of the landing page. If you are linking to your own landing page, then you should setup google analytics to see the exact time your visitors come to your page. That's why, direct linking and making a profit with fb is very difficult. Cause impressions without clicks or a bad ctr will cost you a lot of money. I do not direct link. I always use a relevant landing page to presell the offer so i can track what's going on with the traffic. Yes, it lowers the conversion rates by adding an extra step, but it increases your traffic quality and also it lets you track everything.

Anyway, it's not easy to bank with fb and requires some cash just to see if an offer is good or not. But if you test your ads, split test your landing pages and analyze the visitor data, you may turn a losing campaign to a winner. Be patient, have some money then go for it. Otherwise, stay away and look for something else.

nice share. ill make sure to refer back to this thread when i start my ads on FB.

Thanks

FBD knows what he is talking about. 6 months ago he gave me an insight into the way he does cpc on FB. It works! Sending them to a vote page gets the user engaged. They are more likely to fill out the email submit after they vote.

Before asking questions read his posts carefully. He virtually hands it out on a silver platter. Hey

FBD not sure you should share this but good on you for giving the noobs and insight.

I think you did not read my post carefully. You should switch to cpm once you setup everything and your campaign is successful. NOT, when you are creating a campaign.

Second, cpm means cost per 1000 impressions, NOT cost per impression. So, once your campaign is optimized, you could get as low as $0.04 per 1000 impressions. And 3 million impressions would cost you $120. What's to imagine with that??

3 million impressions with a 0.5% click thru rate on $0.10 cents per click, would cost you $1500. Obviously you don't know what you are talking about, or your math is horrible.

Ok on that campaign and pretty much all of my campaigns I get $0.05 cpc. I know this is hard for you to believe but it's true I can even send screenshots lol. Even my suggested bids are less than $0.10. So there is no need for me to do CPM. And my estimated reach is above 8 million. That can not work with CPM obviously. This means I can run my campaign for at least a year and spend the same as you would on CPM. But if I was going to optimize my campaign for CPM I would only get a month out of it.

I believe you :D I just don't want you to spend more money for something you can pay less and be more profitable :)

I don't think it will be a problem because what you'are offering is extra. Technically you are not misleading them in anyway. They click to vote and they vote. It's totally gray area if not white. Make sure you talk to your AM though.

are networks usually ok with such type of landing pages?i mean we are directly redirecting them, hence asking.

Yup, in my experiences they have been ok with it and I've always gotten paid :D

All good mate :) Always good to have someone that obviously knows what they're doing sharing insight!
